💗 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗

October serves as a powerful reminder to come together in support, compassion, and hope. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about more than wearing pink. It is about honoring survivors, remembering those we have lost, standing alongside those currently facing breast cancer, and encouraging conversations about early detection and screening.

Taking the time to learn, share reliable resources, and encourage loved ones to stay informed can make a meaningful difference. Awareness saves lives, and support helps ensure that no one feels alone on their journey. 🎀

At LASALLE, we proudly stand with everyone impacted by breast cancer, including survivors, patients, families, friends, caregivers, and the communities that support them every step of the way.

Together, we can raise awareness.Together, we can inspire hope.Together, we can support those in need.Together, we can make a difference. 💕

🌟 Warden Spotlight: David Rivas 🌟

Leadership is often shaped by years of experience, lessons learned, and a commitment to helping others succeed. This month, we’re proud to recognize David Rivas, Warden of the San Luis Regional Detention & Support Center, and highlight the career and perspective he brings to the LaSalle team.

David’s journey in corrections began more than five decades ago, following his service in the U.S. Marine Corps. Over the years, he has built an extensive career across military, public-sector, and private corrections, taking on increasing levels of responsibility and leadership along the way. He joined the San Luis team in 2008 and became part of LaSalle Corrections in 2017.

Throughout his career, David has remained focused on something that goes beyond day-to-day operations: developing people. He takes pride in helping staff strengthen their confidence, professionalism, and knowledge so they can continue growing in their roles and serving their facility well.

For David, leadership also means setting the example. His approach centers on maintaining a safe and secure environment, treating others with respect, meeting the needs of those around him, and creating a workplace where employees are encouraged to become stronger professionals.

Outside of work, David enjoys movies, casinos, and early-morning walks. He and his wife, Julie, are also preparing to celebrate an incredible 35 years of marriage this December. And here’s a fun fact many may not know: David once completed the Marine Corps Marathon and even made an appearance in the 2010 film Deadly Renovation. 🎬

With more than 50 years of experience behind him, David continues to bring a steady, practical approach to leadership while keeping his attention on the future of his staff and facility.

We’re proud to recognize Warden David Rivas for his years of service, dedication to his team, and commitment to leading by example. 👏

We had a wonderful time at our Annual Wardens Meeting held at our corporate office in Ruston!

Wardens from across all of our states had the opportunity to come together for education, fellowship, and time spent connecting with one another. It’s always special when everyone can gather in one place, share ideas, learn together, and strengthen the relationships that make our organization so special.

A great time was had by all, and we’re thankful to everyone who joined us and helped make this year’s meeting a success! ❤️

Some days become part of history. Others become part of who we are.

September 11, 2001 is one of those days. We remember the shock, the silence, the fear, and the heartbreak. We remember the lives that were taken too soon, the families forever changed, and the courage of those who ran toward danger when so many were trying to escape it.

But we also remember what came after—the hands reached out to strangers, the flags raised together, the prayers shared across communities, and the feeling that, for a moment, we were not divided by our differences.

Twenty-five years later, the pain still echoes, the names still matter, and the lesson remains: life is fragile, courage is real, and unity is powerful.

We remember those we lost. We honor those who served. And we carry their memory forward.

Never forgotten. Always remembered. 🇺🇸
