Building upon the crucial work of October's Bullying Prevention Month, let's reflect on something simple that can foster lasting respect and inclusion.
Every name holds a story, and learning to pronounce and use someone's name is one of the most powerful steps we can take toward building a kind, safe, and supportive school environment.❤️🐝

To celebrate unity and respect, our Maple Hill Elementary School students created a "Say My Name" chain. 🔗 🔗 🔗 This project reminds us that addressing each other by our names, not names meant to tease or hurt, or even nicknames picked up elsewhere, honors everyone's individuality and ensures every child feels valued and respected.

Listen as our students share their names with pride and showcase how their diversity makes our school community stronger. 🗣️👏

How do you foster kindness and respect in your daily life? Share your thoughts below! ☺️

This was our first cafeteria lunch at the ECC this school year! 🍎

The students enjoyed their favorite pizza lunch while spending time with friends. 🍕 It was a wonderful opportunity for them to begin learning cafeteria routines and building skills they’ll need to prepare for lunchtime in kindergarten!

🧡 Unity Day is more than just wearing orange; it is a promise that every single student in Naugatuck Public Schools belongs.

Today Naugy sent a clear message: kindness, inclusion, and mutual respect define our schools. Being a part of our district means making sure no classmate ever has to stand on their own. We choose to look out for one another, lift each other up, and actively prevent bullying by building a culture where everyone feels supported, valued, and accepted for who they are.

From our early learners to our high schoolers, today showed what happens when our whole Naugy family stands together.

A full district recap of our Unity Day celebrations across all nine schools is coming soon! Stay tuned to see how our community brought our district vision of “Learn, Thrive, Belong” to life today! 🐾✨
