SLOW DOWN. MOVE OVER. SAVE LIVES.

When you see flashing lights on the side of the road, remember that someone is working hard to keep our community safe. It could be a Firefighter, Police Officer, EMS provider, tow truck operator, or highway worker.

Wisconsin’s Move Over Law requires drivers to move over or slow down for stopped emergency vehicles and other vehicles displaying warning lights.

-Move over to a lane farther away when it is safe to do so.
-Slow down and proceed cautiously if you cannot safely move over.
-Stay alert and watch for emergency personnel working near the roadway.

Our firefighters and emergency responders put themselves in harm’s way to help others. A simple decision behind the wheel can make the difference between going home safely and a tragedy.

Help us protect those who protect you.

SLOW DOWN. MOVE OVER. EVERYONE GOES HOME.

On a Flight? Keep It Insight.
When charging on a plane, keep portable charging devices on the tray table. Do not charge devices in overhead compartments and never charge e-cigarettes or vapes on a plane. If a battery overheats or fails, it is important for the flight crew to be able to respond quickly.

FOX CROSSING – On Wednesday, October 7th, at 1039 the Fox Crossing Fire Department along with Auto-Aid units were dispatched to the 900 Block of Tayco St. for the report of a structure fire.

Fox Crossing CAR 40(Assistant Chief) arrived on scene and found a single-story duplex that had fire showing from the roof and smoke coming out of the eaves. Occupants were alerted to the fire from a working smoke detector and both units were evacuated; there was a cat still in the basement of the home.

Firefighters from the first arriving Engine pulled a pre connected hose line and made entry into the home. With the use of a thermal imaging camera, they were able to locate a fire above the ceiling in the bathroom. They pulled ceiling and wall coverings to expose the area and extinguish the fire. Other crews used another hose-line to put out hot spots at the rear of the building, and another crew used ground ladders to access the roof. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes.

Overhaul of the walls, ceiling and attic were completed to ensure the fire was extinguished.

A cat was found safe in the basement and reunited with its owner. No injuries to any firefighters or residents were reported on scene.

The fire is still under investigation and there is no damage estimate at the time of this release. .

Grand Chute Fire Department, Town of Neenah Fire Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, WE Energies, Menasha Utilities and Fox Crossing Police Department assisted at the scene.
