Neoga CUSD #3

Since our last update, several new HVAC units have been installed, and gas line connections are underway. Other exciting developments are taking shape throughout the building!

North Gym: Repairs are underway on the east wall that was damaged when the roof was lifted off and dropped back onto it.

South Gym: Freshly painted walls, basketball hoops, a scoreboard, and shot clocks are now in place. The new gym floor also arrived just yesterday!

Junior High Wing: A new roof has been installed, allowing more substantial work to begin in this section of the building.

Safety Improvements: Additional safety features continue to be installed, including fire walls and a dedicated room for the sprinkler system.

It’s exciting to see the progress happening throughout the building as we continue working toward restoring and improving our Jr.-Sr. High School. We look forward to sharing more updates as construction continues!

We want to give a huge shout-out to the generous businesses who have donated to support our school concession stand this year!
As the District was asked to take over concession stand operations, we are grateful for the community partners who have stepped up to support us. Your generosity makes a difference, and we couldn’t do it without you!

Parent-Teacher Conferences – October 20 & 22

📚 Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up!

Neoga CUSD #3 Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held:
Tuesday, October 20
Thursday, October 22
4:00–7:00 p.m.
​

Students will attend school as usual on both days.

Teachers are working to schedule conference times with families. If you have not yet scheduled a conference or have not heard from your child’s teacher, please reach out to the teacher directly.
​

Parent-teacher conferences are an important opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, ask questions, and continue working together to support their success.

We look forward to visiting with our families!

Today was a great day of learning about fire safety at Neoga Elementary. We were joined by members of the Neoga Fire Department, EMS, and Cumberland County law enforcement for a fire safety assembly with our students.

Students learned important lessons about fire prevention, emergency response, and how to stay safe. At the conclusion of the assembly, we also completed our annual fire drill with the fire department.

A special thank you to Brandon Helm for organizing the event and leading much of the assembly, and to all of our first responders who took time to spend with our students.

Our third graders became archaeologists for the day as they headed outside to dig, explore, and identify different types of fossils.

Today we held our October PBIS Spirit Assembly and recognized our September Neoga Spirit Winners for showing what it means to Encourage Others!
​

Each winner received a certificate and $10 to Thunder Lanes Arcade. Thank you to Thunder Lanes for continuing to support Neoga students and helping us recognize their positive choices.

After the assembly, our Spirit Winners joined Mr. Bear for our “A Hole Lot of Spirit” celebration with donuts and milk. 🍩

We also introduced our PBIS focus for October: Give Respect. During the assembly, students helped with a stacking cup activity that showed how respectful choices build something strong, while disrespectful choices can quickly tear it down.

Throughout October, we will be looking for students who show respect by listening, using kind words, following directions, including others, respecting personal space, and treating people the way they would want to be treated.

Our Neoga High School, Junior High, and Elementary Eco Teams were all in action on Thursday, October 1, with great results!

🌱 High School
Varsity placed 6th out of 19 teams, and JV placed 4th out of 20 teams. The High School Eco Team is coached by Jared McClellan.

🌱 Junior High
The Junior High Eco Team placed 4th out of 20 teams. The team is coached by Lieren Gardewine.

🌱 Elementary
The Neoga Elementary Eco Team placed 3rd at the annual 4th–6th Grade Eco Meet at Douglas-Hart Nature Center. Team members were Aiden Whitaker, Isabella Cowger, Peyton Robinson, and Derek White.

A special congratulations to Aiden Whitaker, who earned the top score on all three tests!
