Neptune City Together, a registered non-profit, will hold a kick-off event on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 5:30-7:30pm at Bar Anticipation.

A $50 donation provides entry to the event, buffet dinner, drink ticket and exclusive update on Shark River restoration efforts. Donations are accepted electronically via the link or by check at the event payable to Neptune City Together.

Ticket price benefits the Shark River Cleanup Coalition.

Thank you to the Neptune City Environmental Commission, Shark River Cleanup Coalition, Margie Donlon & Luanne Peterpaul, Councilperson Pamela Renee and all who came out yesterday to help with the River clean-up! Your efforts make a huge impact on the health of our river.

Planned improvements for Joe Freda Park include replacement of the older playground equipment and installation of shade structures. There is no water line at Joe Freda Park to install a bathroom, which was suggested.

As previously announced, Borough of Neptune City park improvement projects for Memorial Park, Adams Field & Joe Freda Park have been selected for a 2027 Monmouth County Municipal Open Space Grant by the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners in the amount of $500,000.00, the largest MCOS grant the Borough has ever received.

Planned improvements for Memorial Park include expanded and upgraded parking lot, landscaped rain garden to manage stormwater runoff, and if feasible, additional capacity for kayak storage.

Adams Field Planned Improvements
include the construction of new post-tensioned concrete pickleball and tennis courts, new outdoor fitness equipment stations, and improved drainage for resiliency against flooding. Baseball fields, basketball courts, multi-purpose field and inclusive palyground equipment have been completed.

The post tensioned asphalt is an alternative court surface which was selected due to the poor soil conditions at Adams Field and carries a 50 year non-cracking warranty.

Neptune City Together, a registered 501(c)3 organized to foster community by bringing together residents, businesses and local stakeholders through fundraising efforts, events, projects and activities, has selected the Shark River Clean-up Coalition (SRCC) as its first beneficiary to support the ecological and economic stability of this important watershed.

Sustainability of the Shark River is critical to the recreational, economic and environmental interests of our local communities and your support for Neptune City Together will provide critical support for the Shark River Clean-up Coalition and promote civic pride in Neptune City and surrounding communities.
