🚒 Training Tuesday: Rural Water Movement

This week's training focused on rural water supply operations which is an essential skill for fighting fires in areas without fire hydrants.

Our members worked on setting up portable water tanks, operating tanker water dumps, and deploying low level strainers to establish a reliable water supply during emergency operations.

Training like this helps ensure our crews can efficiently establish and maintain a continuous water supply when every gallon counts!

Always training. Always ready. 💪 🔥

🔥 Fire Prevention Week at Neshannock Township School District! 🚒

As Fire Prevention Week comes to a close, we want to reflect on a great week of fire safety education and community involvement!

One of the highlights of our week was visiting Neshannock's youngest students in Pre-K through first grade to teach them about fire prevention and the importance of staying safe during an emergency!

Throughout the day, students learned important fire safety lessons, got to interact with our firefighters and sparky, and had the opportunity to learn more about what we do to keep our community safe.

We were also excited to see all the fire prevention themed artwork and decorations the students created throughout the hallways!

A big thank you to the teachers, staff, and students at Neshannock for welcoming us and helping make the day such a great experience!

👉 We would also like to thank everyone in our community who followed along, shared our fire safety messages, and helped spread awareness throughout Fire Prevention Week. A special thank you goes out to our dedicated volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to help educate our community.

❗️While Fire Prevention Week may be coming to an end, fire safety doesn't stop here!

Fire prevention is a year-round responsibility, and we encourage everyone to continue practicing safe habits, testing smoke alarms, reviewing home escape plans, and having conversations about fire safety with their families.

📸 Check out a few photos from our school visit, including some of the awesome fire prevention displays created by the students!

🔋 Battery Safety is Fire Safety! 🔥

Did you know that the lithium-ion batteries powering many of our everyday devices can become a serious fire hazard if not used or charged properly?

From cell phones and laptops to power tools and e-bikes, these batteries are all around us!

During Fire Prevention Week, we're reminding everyone to take a few simple precautions:
🔌 Always use manufacturer-approved chargers.
🚫 Keep charging devices away from beds, couches, and other flammable materials.
⚠️ Watch for warning signs like overheating, swelling, or unusual odors.

Remember, a little prevention can make a big difference! 🚒

🔥 Fire Safety Doesn't Stop in the Classroom! 🚒

Today, our firefighters had the opportunity to visit some of our youngest community members and teach them important lessons about fire prevention and what to do during an emergency!

But the learning doesn't stop when the school day ends! 🏠

❗️Parents, we encourage you to continue the conversation at home! Ask your children what they learned today, review your family's fire escape plan, and make sure everyone knows where to meet outside in an emergency.

Fire prevention starts with education, but it continues with practice!

🏠 Does your family have a fire escape plan? 🔥

During Fire Prevention Week, we're reminding everyone that being prepared can make all the difference in an emergency.

🚪 Know two ways out of every room, when possible.
📍 Choose a safe meeting place outside.
🚒 Once you're out, stay out!

Having a plan is important, but practicing it could save lives.

Take a few minutes this week to practice your family's escape plan!

Yesterday, our members had a great time attending the Northminster Presbyterian Church Fall Market!

It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed meeting everyone who stopped by to check out the engine, talk with our members, and learn more about our fire company.

A big thank you to Northminster Church for having us and for putting together such a great community event. We’re always grateful for opportunities to get out, meet our neighbors, and spend time with the community we’re proud to serve. 🚒

We're Getting Ready for Fire Prevention Week! 🚒

Our members have been busy behind the scenes this week getting everything ready for our upcoming visits with local students!

From stuffing fire safety bags for our elementary students and preparing the Hazard House to putting together recruitment materials and information about our department, there’s a lot that goes into making Fire Prevention Week a success.

We’re looking forward to getting into the schools, teaching students about fire safety, and sharing a little more about what we do here at the Neshannock Township Volunteer Fire Company.

A big thank you to all of our members who have been putting in the time to get everything ready! 👏🔥
