🔥 Grass Fire Response & Burn Ban Reminder 🔥
Today, our crew responded to a grass fire in our district off CR 541. We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to Lavon Fire Department and Josephine Fire Department for responding and assisting our crews. We are incredibly grateful for our neighboring departments and the teamwork they provide when it matters most.
⚠️ BURN BAN REMINDER ⚠️
We are currently under an outdoor burn ban due to extremely dry conditions. Outdoor burning is prohibited while the burn ban is in effect.
Conditions are extremely dry right now, and it does not take much for a small fire to become a fast-moving grass or wildland fire. Please help us protect our community, homes, property, livestock, and first responders by taking fire prevention seriously.
🔥 Help prevent the next fire:
• Do not burn brush, leaves, trash, or other debris outdoors.
• Never toss ci******es or other smoking materials onto the ground.
• Avoid parking or driving vehicles over tall, dry grass — hot exhaust components can ignite vegetation.
• Use extra caution with equipment that can create sparks.
• Keep dry grass, leaves, and other combustible vegetation cleared away from structures.
• If you see an uncontrolled fire or smoke that may indicate a fire, call 911 immediately.
• Never assume a small fire will stay small. Dry vegetation and wind can allow fire to spread extremely quickly.
Please remember: burn bans are put in place for a reason. One spark or unattended flame can threaten homes, property, animals, and lives — and put firefighters unnecessarily at risk.
Thank you again to Lavon and Josephine for your assistance today, and thank you to our community for helping us keep Collin County safe. ❤️🚒
Please share and help spread the word!
