Please keep in mind that stormwater does have a destination.

RAINWATER SHOULD HAVE A DESTINATION.
Rain doesn’t become a problem when it falls.
It becomes a problem when the compound has nowhere for it to go.
A good layout gives water a sequence:
COLLECT → SLOW → INFILTRATE → STORE → OVERFLOW
Roofs collect it.
Grading moves it.
Swales and rain gardens slow it.
Soil and planted zones can infiltrate it.
Tanks or ponds can store it.
And controlled overflow protects the site when everything is full.
The important part is to design the whole water path before the first storm arrives.
Because drainage isn't an afterthought.
It is part of the compound's architecture.
