Finding the help you need shouldn't be the hardest part of getting it.

That's why we're wrapping up our latest round of Competitive Grant announcements with a $25,000 Capacity Building Grant to LifeSpan Resources – our largest award of the competitive cycle!

LifeSpan helps individuals of all ages throughout Clark, Floyd, Harrison, and Scott counties access the resources they need to live safely and independently in their own homes and communities.

This grant will support a comprehensive website modernization, improving accessibility, communication, program registration, and integration with essential service-management tools. As LifeSpan expands its programs to meet evolving community needs, this investment will help strengthen the organization's ability to connect residents with critical resources.

With this announcement, we've now awarded $61,500 to five nonprofit organizations through our latest grant cycle – investments supporting affordable housing, youth services, recovery, organizational growth, and community access.

And there's more good news on the horizon.

This Friday, we'll share another exciting grant-related announcement made possible through the generosity of Lilly Endowment Inc. It's an opportunity to further expand our reach and strengthen our investment in the communities we serve.

Check your Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) and Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs) for claims related to wound care supplies that you did not receive or request. The SMP has had a lot of reports of Medicare beneficiaries finding claims for:
A6197 - Alginate or other fiber gelling dressing, wound cover. If you see this on your Medicare statements, report it to the SMP.

Be on the lookout for elastic wrist bands being delivered to you and also showing up on your Medicare statements. The SMP has had a few reports of beneficiaries receiving these elastic bands that they have not requested.

Indiana’s 15 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) are essential for delivering local, community-based support to older adults and people with disabilities. The proposed remapping threatens to disrupt these vital services. Stand with us—reach out to your legislators and ask them to vote NO on the FSSA remapping proposal in January. Let’s ensure every Hoosier continues to have access to the care and resources they need, close to home.
