One of our patrons, Sarah Magee, has checked out 12 books during September. Yesterday, she received one of the fall tote bags we are giving away to those who check out 12 or more books in September. Way to read, Sarah!

This week's book of the week for children is "No Dragons for Tea" by Jean Pendziwol and Martine Gourbault in which the little girl learns a lesson about what happens when you invite a dragon to tea and then that dragon sneezes! More importantly, the book teaches children in a fun way what to do if a fire occurs in the house. The illustrations are lovely.

For the month of September, any of our patrons who check out (and return) at least 12 books during the month will receive a nice canvas tote bag that says "Fall in Love with Reading". This fits right in with our September fall decorations. We thank the nice patron who donated the bags. We only have a limited number and once they run out, that's it. So hurry in and start checking out - and READING! (This post was edited to correct the month from August to September. My error - sorry!)

Drop by and introduce your baby or toddler to our adorable Children's Book of the Week, "Freddie Visits the Doctor" by Nicola Smee.
This story can help little ones become more familiar with and less afraid of the sometimes scary concept of going to the doctor! This book is recommended for ages 1-3! 👨‍⚕️🏥

I've had several people tell me recently they thought we were closed!! Please tell your family and friends and neighbors the New Augusta Public Library is DEFINITELY open. We are open 4 days a week (Monday through Thursday) from 11:30a to 5:30p. I'm not sure why this misconception continues but please help us let people know its not true. Thanks.

You can find James Patterson's "Billion Dollar Ransom" on our new arrivals shelf as of 5 minutes ago! Two of our frequent patrons have read it and highly recommend it.

I'm just now putting 16 books on the new arrivals cart. Almost all of them have been made into movies at some point but the book is always better! We have Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes, A Clockwork Orange, Catch-22, I Am Legend, All the Pretty Horses, The Road (EXCELLENT book and movie!), 1984, The Catcher in the Rye, Stoker's Dracula and 6 others. Some good reading here! See you soon.

Our Children's Book of the Week is "Tom's First Day at School" by Beth Robbins!
Kids will love following along as Tom experiences his first day at school, and is relieved to learn that it isn't as bad as his sister told him it would be! 🍎✏️🎒
