🚨🚌 SCHOOL STARTS MONDAY! 🚌🚨

The first day of school is Monday, which means our school buses will be back on the roads carrying some very important passengers! 💛

Please take a moment to look at the graphic below and refresh yourself on when you MUST STOP for a stopped school bus.

🛑 See the red flashing lights? STOP.
🛑 See the stop arm out? STOP.
👀 Slow down, stay alert, and watch for children near bus stops and school zones.

Mornings can be busy, and everyone has somewhere to be—but no destination is more important than a child’s safety.

Parents, please talk with your young drivers too! A few extra seconds of patience can prevent a tragedy.

🚔 Our students are counting on all of us to help keep them safe.

Please SHARE this post so everyone is ready for Monday! 🚌🎒📚

Welcome back, students! Have a safe and GREAT first day of school! ❤️

As our children head back to school, I want to remind parents and students that safety starts at home.

Let’s work together to make this school year a safe, successful, and enjoyable one for all of our children.

What an incredible way to wrap up the final week of Craven County D.A.R.E. Summer Camp! ⛳🏎️🚤

Our campers had an amazing time at Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Raceway - Salter Path, NC, where they enjoyed a day full of fun and excitement! From challenging each other on the mini golf course to racing go-karts and cooling off on the bumper boats, there was never a dull moment.

As we close out the second week of camp, we are thankful for all of the wonderful memories that were made with both the campers and also the deputies. It has been a week filled with laughter, learning, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week of Craven County D.A.R.E. Summer Camp such a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to invest in our youth and can’t wait to see what the next summer camp week brings!

What a great day at Craven County D.A.R.E. Summer Camp! 🇺🇸🎳

Thursday, our campers visited New Bern Battlefield Park, where they learned about the history of the Civil War and the important role the battle played in our local community. A special thank you to the New Bern Historical Society for providing an outstanding tour and sharing their knowledge with our campers. We appreciate all you do to help preserve and teach our local history!

After exploring the battlefield, campers enjoyed a delicious lunch at Morgan’s Tavern & Grill. Thank you for the wonderful food and hospitality!

After our lesson, the campers had an engaging D.A.R.E. lesson where campers learned important life skills and had the opportunity to experience the effects of impairment by trying on the “drunk goggles.” This hands-on activity helped campers better understand the dangers of impaired driving and the importance of making safe and responsible choices.

The day wrapped up with lots of fun at the bowling alley, where campers enjoyed friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and made even more great memories together. 🎳

Craven County D.A.R.E. Summer Camp continues to provide opportunities for our youth to learn, explore, and have fun while building lasting friendships along the way! 💙
