We absolutely love being a part of this tradition.

Have you ever driven through a community that has really cool things? I know I’ve driven through New London, NH and you see their Gnus, and Enfield, NH has lots of scarecrows and through Vermont they have some creative hay bale decorations. This is our last call to join the scarecrow alley contest!

https://newboston.recdesk.com/Community/Program/Detail?programId=749

Our famous Scarecrow Alley comes to life again this fall sponsored by New Boston Recreation and Whipple Free Library want you to show off your best scarecrow. New Boston residents, businesses, and non-profit organizations, are encouraged to make a scarecrow and display it on the town common. Creations can be set up on the town common starting Thursday, October 1, 2026. All creations must be up by Monday, Oct. 5th. All creations must be taken down by Friday, October 30, 2026.

Rules:
Please keep it PG. This is for families, organizations, and businesses. No excessive gore allowed Keep it fun! Please leave political signs, controversial topics or agendas at home.
Keep an eye on your creations. Wind and rain can damage your scarecrow displays. Please fix/clean up after them up as needed.

Come feed stitch (Thank you New Boston Recreation for making him for us!) or hand in your candy at the front desk!

Oh poo, it's on my shoe! This is a friendly reminder to PLEASE pick up after your pups when on the trails (especially the Mill Street Conservation Trail and the Library storywalk). Many people use these trails to go back and forth to the Library, including groups with small children, and we would like to keep the trails clean for them. We love dogs, but we DON'T love scraping poo out of our carpets!
