Ptl. Buckle previously served with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Ptl. Buckle was officially sworn in today by Mayor Imes and Chief Dixon.

Last week New Boston School had a special visit from Ohio Lt. Governor and legendary Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel! 🏈🅾️

Lt. Governor Tressel spoke with students about his “Team Tressel Fitness Challenge”, a free statewide program designed to help students in grades 3–8 build healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

The program reaches more than 650,000 students at over 2,100 schools across all 88 Ohio counties, encouraging kids to stay active, make healthy choices, and work toward becoming the best version of themselves.

A great message from an Ohio legend—and an even better opportunity for Ohio’s kids! 💪🌰

Congratulations Officer Brandon Moore. Officer Moore was nominated for the Knights of Columbus 12th Annual “Blue Coat” Award. Officer Moore was 1 of 2 recipient’s to receive this honorary award this year.

Also pictured is “Blue Coat” Award recipient Deputy Josh Lewis from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. Big congratulations to you both, well deserved. Thank you men for your dedication and service to our communities.

The New Boston Police Departmentis now accepting applications and resumes.

Resumes can be sent to [email protected] for pre-screening ahead of time, but a paper application must also be filled out and turned in as well to be on file for the hiring process.

Applications can be picked up from Dispatch (located at 3978 Rhodes Ave) Monday-Friday between the hours of 7AM-7PM.

Expect delays on US 52 eastbound/westbound between the hours of 10 AM to 5 PM today (August 4th) and tomorrow (August 5th) at Taylor Ave (Walmart Intersection). Workers will be working on the lights. All traffic leaving Walmart heading eastbound towards Sciotoville/Wheelersburg will be redirected to the light near Guthrie’s. Thank you for your cooperation

We want to thank everyone for coming out to the 4th of July festivities and fireworks this past weekend. It was great to see residents and visitors having a great time. We hope you will join us again in September for our party in the park. We would also like to thank Dempsey’s Heating and Cooling, Charlies Auto Shop, Tim’s Twisted Wrench and a private citizen for providing a trailer and sxs to use in the park to help keep our residents safe in the event of an emergency.

Since the cancellation of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, it appears this Ryan Stiles doppelgänger/stuntman has fallen on hard times.

This week, an unidentified male suspect walked out of Walmart with hundreds of dollars worth of lawn and garden merchandise.

Kind of makes you think… How does Drew Carey get those Showcase Showdown items on The Price Is Right turned around so quickly? 😂

This weekend, this clearance rack Duck Dynasty power couple wondered into Casa Grande still smelling like low tide and bad decisions. While sitting in their booth stuffing their faces with complementary chips and salsa, they planned their next “hunt” and locked onto the fiercest prey in the building: an unattended purse. The true apex predator of the restaurant world. Naturally, after striking out in the wild, this couple snatched the unattended purse and waddled out feeling accomplished…… Completely forgetting this particular “hunt” comes with cameras, witnesses, and a court date instead of a tailgate.
