🚜 Now THIS is a fun way to explore future careers!
Our Comal County Road Department team spent part of the day at Youth Career Quest, sponsored by the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce.

Hundreds of eighth graders from New Braunfels ISD and Comal ISD got a chance to learn about some of the career opportunities right here in our Road and Engineering department.
And of course, we couldn't show up empty-handed! We brought one of our big machines along to show off a little. 😎
Thanks to the Chamber for putting together a great event and giving these students a chance to see what's possible right here at home.

🗳️ Early Voting: How Do We Compare?
We've had quite a few people asking how this year's early voting turnout compares to previous elections. So, let's take a look!
In 2022, 38.1% of registered voters cast their ballots early.
That number jumped to 59% in the 2024 presidential election.
This year, early voting turnout was 43.8%.

But here's something else to consider. Comal County continues to grow, and so does our number of registered voters!

2022: 130,109 registered voters
2024: 143,985 registered voters
2026: 152,440 registered voters

That's more than 22,000 additional registered voters since 2022!
While this year's early voting percentage didn't surpass 2024, it was higher than the last midterm election in 2022.

And remember, these numbers only reflect EARLY VOTING.
Election Day ballots are still being cast today! Polls are open until 7:00 pm.

The National Weather Service says a line of storms will be moving our way overnight, with some possibly becoming strong to severe. The good news is they’re expected to weaken as they move east.

For Comal County, the most likely time for storms is between 3 and 6 a.m. Tuesday.

So, before you call it a night, make sure your phone is charged and your weather alerts are turned on. You don’t want to miss an important warning while you’re sleeping.

We’ll keep an eye on the weather and share updates if needed.
