The NBPD SWAT team had a strong performance at this year’s Texas Tactical Police Officers Association (TTPOA) SWAT Competition, held October 15–18 in Pasadena, Texas.

The NBPD team finished 8th out of 44 teams in a field that included local, state, and federal agencies from Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Florida. The four-day, team-oriented competition featured nine demanding events designed to test communication, precision shooting, physical endurance, and tactical decision-making under pressure.

Several of the events were “blind,” meaning teams received critical mission information only hours before. This format is intended to simulate real-world intelligence flow and the stress of developing and executing a plan under tight time constraints.

Competing against some of the highest-performing SWAT units in the country is an excellent opportunity for NBPD operators to sharpen their skills, learn from peers, and bring that experience back to the community.
