🎃🚛 WHAT A SPOOKTACULAR NIGHT AT FREW MILL! 🚛🎃

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for LCCAP’s 3rd Annual Weatherization Day Touch-a-Truck Trunk-or-Treat at our Frew Mill Campus! 💜

Kids had a blast dressing up in their Halloween costumes, collecting treats, and getting an up-close look at all the different trucks and vehicles. It was wonderful to see children and adults alike enjoying the evening and making fun memories together! 👻🍬

A special THANK YOU to Columbia Gas of PA, Love Heating and Cooling, Inc., and the American Red Cross for joining us and bringing their vehicles for everyone to explore. We appreciate you helping make this event such a success! 🚒❤️

Thank you to all our participating businesses, families, and community members who came out to celebrate with us. We loved seeing so many great costumes and sharing a fun evening with our Lawrence County community!

🎃🐾 A SPECIAL VISIT TO ELLWOOD CITY EARLY LEARNING! 🚔

A big THANK YOU to Officer Kruger and K9 Officer Niko from the Ellwood City Police Department for visiting Classes 206, 207, and 209 to talk with our little learners about Trick-or-Treat Safety! 💜

Officer Kruger introduced the children to his K9 partner, Niko, and explained how Niko helps him and the rest of the police department. The children even had the opportunity to pet Niko and learn how he responds to both verbal commands and hand signals!

During their visit, Officer Kruger shared important safety reminders to help everyone have a safe and happy Halloween, including:

🎃 Always trick-or-treat with a trusted adult.
🚦 Look both ways before crossing the street and hold an adult's hand.
🏠 Never approach a stranger's door without an adult.
💜 Remember to use good manners and say “please” and “thank you!”
🚔 If you become lost or separated from your family, look for a police officer, firefighter, or paramedic who can help you reconnect with your family or get assistance in an emergency.

Our students had a wonderful time learning about safety and meeting K9 Niko, and it was clear that Niko enjoyed meeting all the children, too! 🐾

Thank you, Officer Kruger and K9 Niko, for taking the time to visit our classrooms and help our children learn how to stay safe this Halloween!

📸💜 A LOOK BACK AT LAST NIGHT’S EARLY LEARNING OPEN HOUSE!

We loved seeing families participate in our Photo Scavenger Hunt during last night’s Early Learning Open House! The photos featured in this post were submitted by parents throughout the event as they completed fun photo prompts with their children.

From snapping a picture with their teacher to capturing their favorite activity center, families had the opportunity to explore their child’s classroom and discover all the special things that make their school experience meaningful. 🏫✨

A big THANK YOU to all the parents who participated in this fun activity and shared their photos with us! We appreciate you taking the time to be part of the event and celebrate the classrooms, teachers, and activities your children love. 💜

🥶🏠 IS YOUR HOME READY FOR COLD WEATHER?

Here are some signs your home could benefit from an energy assessment:

🏠❄️ WHAT IS WEATHERIZATION? ❄️🏠

As temperatures drop, keeping your home warm and comfortable becomes a priority. But drafts, poor insulation, and air leaks can make it harder to maintain a comfortable temperature and may contribute to higher energy bills.

Weatherization helps improve a home's energy efficiency by identifying areas where energy is being wasted and making improvements that help reduce heat loss in the winter and keep cool air inside during the summer.

💜 Through LCCAP's Healthy Homes Department, eligible households may receive Weatherization services designed to improve energy efficiency, home comfort, and safety.

💙 Make a Difference in Your Community by Volunteering with VITA! 💙

LCCAP is looking for volunteers to support the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and help individuals and families in our community access free tax preparation services!

Whether you have experience preparing taxes or simply want to help others, there are several ways to get involved! Volunteers can assist as tax preparers, reviewers, greeters, interpreters, and more. Training and IRS certification opportunities are available.

✨ Share your skills.
✨ Learn something new.
✨ Help local families and individuals.
