For today's Homeschool Story Explorers program, we partnered with a First State National Historical Park Ranger who read to our families and took us on a nature walk through Battery Park. We began by reading "If I were a Park Ranger" by Catherine Stier, then walked together down South Street to the park, stopping at 3 locations to learn some New Castle history. We learned about the Lenape, the beaver fur trade, how and when Battery Park was founded, and more.

Thank you to all our families who joined us, and for Ranger Damon for providing our children with a unique, hands-on learning experience!

For those interested in joining us next month, registration is now open on our online calendar: https://delawarelibraries.libcal.com/event/17591161

The weather didn't stop us from having a blast at our first ever Baby Rave this Saturday morning!! This program promotes sensory play, which comes with lots of benefits such as encouraging learning through exploration, building motor skills, supporting brain development, and so much more! Thank you to all the families who joined us for this fun filled morning!

UPDATE: This was our first time hosting this program, but due to popularity we've gone ahead and added another session for December 19. As the program is a while away, registration for this event will open 8 weeks before on Oct. 24 at 10:30am! Although we are limited by staff availability, we will be planning to add more if interest remains high. Here is a link to the next session for anyone that would like to bookmark it in the meantime: https://delawarelibraries.libcal.com/event/17718356
