The Rockland County Sheriff’s Deputies Association may be looking a little different this November. That is due to the fact that a majority of the ranks will be growing a beard in support of Men’s Health. Members sporting facial hair along with the union have made a substantial donation listed below to cancer research. We applaud our members and all individuals donating for this great cause. The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office will hold its Monthly Car-Seat Fitting Station this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., which will educate parents on proper car-seat installation. The event will take place at our station at 55 New Hempstead Road in New City.

Detectives Kennedy, McMorrow-Kwalwasser, and Deputy Abbatecola participated in the Project Children 5k in support of their mission to continue bringing peace and protecting youth in Northern Ireland.

Detective McMorrow-Kwalwasser of the Rockland County Sheriffs Office and Police Officer Furlong of the Stony Point PD are participating in the Tom Langan International Police Gaelic Football Tournament in London playing for the NYPD. In their first game they came out victorious against the Police Services of Northern Ireland.

We wish them luck in the final against the Dublin Garda.

On August 12, 2024 wanted subject Jonathan Abikzer was arrested on a warrant issued from Rockland County Court. Detectives from the Rockland County Sheriff's Office apprehended the suspect following a brief foot pursuit after a surveillance team observed him leaving a building in New York City. He is currently awaiting arraignment at the Rockland County Jail.
