We are happy to invite you to the 56th edition of the Water Series Webinar on 30th October, Friday, from 11AM onwards, focusing on the 'Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari: Catch the Rain Campaign' for strengthening people's participation in water conservation.

The webinar will showcase the climate- resilient water conservation initiatives undertaken by the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra through scientific planning, GIS mapping, groundwater analysis, watershed management, and community participation. The Chitradurga district of Karnataka will showcase its groundwater recharge and drinking water planning initiatives to make the region water-secure.

Mr. Sam Pappu, P.E., is the Founder and President of Water and Waste Management International (WWMI), a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit known as “The Resource Recovery People.” Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, WWMI brings together a network of more than 500 subject-matter experts across the USA, India, Europe, and Asia to build knowledge and business platforms in water and wastewater, solid waste management, energy recovery, and One Health and climate.

He brings over 47 years of engineering experience, including more than 24 years as a Senior Electrical Engineer at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and 17 years at Vizag Steel in India. A member of the International Committee of WateReuse.org, he has been honored with Rotary International’s Paul Harris Award for clean water training in India and the Jala Seva Bharathi Award for service to India’s water sector.

At the 67th Water Talk, Mr. Sam will outline WWMI’s activities, including its network of more than 500 experts across the USA, India, Europe, and Asia. He will talk about the Rural Development Alliance (RDA), launched in May 2026 to strengthen rural and underserved water systems in India and Asia, and its planned programs in decentralized village wastewater treatment.

केन-बेतवा लिंक परियोजना के अंतर्गत मध्य प्रदेश के 9 जिलों (पन्ना, टीकमगढ़, छतरपुर, सागर, दमोह, दतिया, विदिशा, शिवपुरी एवं रायसेन) तथा उत्तर प्रदेश के 4 जिलों (बांदा, महोबा, झांसी एवं ललितपुर) में लगभग 62 लाख लोगों को पेयजल उपलब्ध होगा।

केन-बेतवा परियोजना के अंतर्गत मध्य प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा भूमि अर्जन , पुनर्वास एवं पुनर्स्थापन (R&R) उपाय, पुनर्वास और पुनर्स्थापन में उचित प्रतिकर एवं पारदर्शिता का अधिकार अधिनियम, 2013 के प्रावधानों के अनुरूप किए जा रहे| कुल 5,039 प्रभावित परिवारों की पहचान की गई है, जिनके लिए ₹629.87 करोड़ का मुआवजा निर्धारित किया गया है। इसमें से ₹618.375 करोड़ (98.17%) का भुगतान किया जा चुका है।
निजी कृषि भूमि के अधिग्रहण हेतु निर्धारित ₹360.66 करोड़ में से ₹323.46 करोड़ (89.68%) वितरित किए जा चुके हैं। आबादी क्षेत्र में मकानों एवं अन्य आवासीय परिसंपत्तियों के लिए स्वीकृत ₹149.63 करोड़ में से 95.25% राशि का भुगतान किया जा चुका है।

केन-बेतवा लिंक परियोजना के अंतर्गत मध्य प्रदेश के 9 जिलों (पन्ना, टीकमगढ़, छतरपुर, सागर, दमोह, दतिया, विदिशा, शिवपुरी एवं रायसेन) तथा उत्तर प्रदेश के 4 जिलों (बांदा, महोबा, झांसी एवं ललितपुर) में लगभग 10.62 लाख हेक्टेयर कृषि भूमि में वार्षिक सिंचाई की उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित होगी।

वर्षा 🌧️ जल संचयन आज की जरूरत ही नहीं, आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए हमारी जिम्मेदारी है। बारिश के पानी को सहेजकर हम भूजल recharge कर सकते हैं, जल स्रोतों पर दबाव कम कर सकते हैं और जल संकट के प्रति अपनी resilience बढ़ा सकते हैं।🙌
