Today marks an exciting milestone for Arnold Palmer Regional Airport with the opening of its expanded terminal & announcement of airline service that supports travelers, welcomes visitors to our area, & creates new opportunities for businesses and tourism.

These developments represent important progress for our region & I look forward to seeing Arnold Palmer Regional Airport continue to grow & serve our communities for years to come!

DENUNZIO’S ITALIAN CHOPHOUSE at the airport location has never stopped. They continue to offer a delicious menu & atmosphere that is welcoming & beautiful especially through the holiday season. DeNunzio’s at the airport is not only one of my favorite places to dine in District # 59, it’s a fantastic venue to hold your banquet or private event. They’re Top Notch & have been serving our community at our local airport since April 2004. See you at the Airport !

Today I met with Evan Frescura who stopped at my Harrisburg office wearing his earned “Green Jacket” as he serves on the 4-H State Council, which is an achieved honor.

Through the 4-H program, Evan has been a familiar face showing his dairy cattle at the Westmoreland Fair for over a decade. He’s not shy to the word “WORK!” During our conversation, we talked about his involvement, his growth from a child to the young man that he is today, and of course about the 4-H program and all the options available for youth involvement . Through determination & work on Evan’s projects, he’s built friendships, shown leadership, & is giving back to his community by working with other youth inspiring them, as they prepare for their future’s. Let’s not forget to mention that he works along side his family at their 100-acre dairy farm where they produce over 200 gallons of fresh organic milk daily! His great smile & personality shine, which tells me he enjoys where he is going in life & I’m thankful that 4-H has been such a bright part of his journey. Evan has earned a $2500 Horizon Organic Producer Education Scholarship 2 Years in a row which is an Outstanding achievement deserved by him.

It is my hope that other children in District
# 59 join 4-H to discover their potential, build lifelong skills, & friendships as they learn the best version of themselves.

Various State House Members & Senators, Small-Business Owners, Community Organizations & skill game players gathered at the State Capitol this morning wanting to know about the Oct. 13 deadline that is fast approaching, as they are seeking legislation passed & in place so they don’t have to stop operating next week due to a recent Pa Supreme Court Decision. Some asked for a six month extension, whereas others stated that wasn’t acceptable to them. People were clear they want their plea’s heard and the General Assembly to act providing guidelines allowing them to continue the operation of Skill Games.

The Legislature needs to establish reasonable regulations that provide transparency & accountability while allowing skill games to remain a viable source of revenue. Many organizations have relied on this funding since Covid. Commentators spoke noting that skill games help pay for equipment, training, building maintenance, community programs, health insurance for small business owner’s employees, and other important needs.

I believe we can establish appropriate oversight while protecting an important source of support for the veterans groups, fire companies, EMS providers, nonprofits, & small bussiness’ that do so much for our communities.

As we start this session week, I attended a press conference this morning to support House Bill 1499, which would ensure 50/50 custody in cases where both parents are found to be fit and able to care for the child. I am a co-sponsor of the legislation.

At its core, this legislation is about making sure children can maintain meaningful relationships with both parents following a separation or divorce. Too often, custody arrangements can limit one parent to one day a week and every other weekend, reducing their ability to be involved in the day-to-day responsibilities of raising their child.

Research shows children generally benefit when both parents remain actively involved in their lives. Shared parenting has been linked to better outcomes in school, lower risks of abuse and neglect, and reduced involvement in drugs and other high-risk behaviors.

House Bill 1499 would establish equal shared parenting as the standard when both parents are fit and able to care for their child, while moving away from the traditional “custodial” and “noncustodial” parent model.

Every family is different, but when both parents can provide a safe and loving home, children should have the opportunity to grow up with the active involvement of both parents.

Now through mid-December, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) will be stocking waterways across the Commonwealth with approximately 114,700 hatchery-raised adult trout.
This year's fall and winter stocking will include rainbow, brook, and brown trout at 117 stream sections and lakes. These stockings will replenish many popular fishing spots, and weather conditions permitting, provide additional opportunities for anglers throughout the winter.
The best part? Trout stocked during the fall and winter may be fished immediately! So, grab your gear, check your favorite waterway and enjoy some great Pennsylvania fishing.
