If anyone see the gentleman out selling solar panels right now, please remind him that there is now a solicitation ordinance. He does not have a permit and it outside of the hours allowed to do it. We are currently trying to locate this person.

08/29/2026

Attention Residents: Permits are now required for door to door solicitation. Ordinance 3 of 2026 passed at the last meeting, it will be posted on the website soon. General rules are, solicitation hours will be M-F 9-5, no weekends or Federal holidays. Anyone wanting to solicit will have to fill out an application and be approved by council. They will then be issued a badge to be worn the entire time they are in town.
The reason for this ordinance is after numerous potential scams, and residents being tired being bothered by door to door sales. If there is an issue, we have information to be able to handle the situation.

Please note, this does not apply to kids selling items for school, scouts, etc.

If you do have an issue please call the New Florence ordinance officer directly at 724-235-3140 The St.Clair Township police do not handle ordinance violations, but if there is a threat of danger do not hesitate to call 911.

If you have further questions, please call the Borough office at 724-235-2000.
