What a fun afternoon at CCA's ARISE Center's Harvest Party! Our families left with lots of candy and a costume. At CCA, we believe community is more than providing services - it's about creating moments of joy, connection and belonging even during challenging times. A special shout out thank you to The Re:Joy Project for the wonderful costumes and our volunteers from UNH Lambda Pi Upsilon Sorority who helped make this event special for our CCA kids!

Some of us Christian Community Action, Inc. were able to join our partners and colleagues at the Omni today, for the 2026 Connecticut Housing Conference: From Vision to Homes hosted by Connecticut Department of Housing and CT Housing Finance Authority. Celebrating the good work we've done in our state...but strategizing, learning and collaborating for the more we want to do to make sure everyone has an affordable, safe place to live.

CCA celebrated its Third Annual Homeless to Boldness event on Saturday. Many were in attendance to witness transformed lives moving forward with boldness. To our models—we are honored that you shared your story with us! CCA residents had the opportunity to network with employers that came to support their journey. Rep. Rosa DeLauro stopped by to give us some words of encouragement. We had wonderful music from Yale Out of the Blue and Kenny Georges. And heard from the wonderful Babz Rawls-Ivy as our keynote speaker. Special thanks to our lead sponsors: A-1 Toyota and Yale New Haven Health. And Community sponsors: Center for Inclusive Growth, Community Health Network of Connecticut, James Early Family Foundation, Lamb Insurance. And thank you to our many volunteers!

We are overwhelmed with gratitude to be among the recipients of CIF Round 9. We will now be able to move forward with our plans to renovate our ARISE (Accessing Resources for Independence, Skill Building and Employment) Center to increase services and programs. Thank you to all who have helped us get to this point!

I’m proud to see $12.2 million in Community Investment Fund support approved for four New Haven projects!

These investments will expand opportunities at CitySeed, LEAP, Christian Community Action, and the Fair Haven Community Health Clinic — strengthening neighborhoods and helping these organizations serve even more New Haven residents.

As co-chair of the CIF Board, I’m proud to help deliver these investments to our city.

CCA’s Annual Staff Retreat 2026 was held at Killam’s Point last Friday! Sometimes it just takes a meeting of the minds and hearts to remind us of why we do what we do and that we are many pieces with one story. With action, commitment, collaboration and teamwork we are a better group for the people that we serve. Thank you Randi McCray for your thought-provoking activities and presentation!

CCA doesn’t leave our residents without and neither do our donors. Here our family coach is preparing generously donated items to welcome a new family to their apartment style shelter and CCA's housing programs. Thank you to all of our donors for supporting CCA and our families! At CCA, we make sure our families feel supported—and our incredible donors help make that possible!

To all of our donors: thank you for helping us provide Help, Housing & Hope and making sure our families have what they need to feel at home. Your generosity makes a difference!!
