๐Ÿš” Meet Volunteer Chaplain Cooper!

Today, October 22, 2026, Chaplain Cooper began his shift observing Detective Thomas and learning more about her work before joining Officer Mastrangelo for a few hours on a patrol ride-along.

Since joining the department in August, Chaplain Cooper has supported NLPD officers through spiritual support, one-on-one counseling, and encouragement. When a victim at a scene may benefit from his presence, he offers compassionate supportโ€”always without pressure or insistence.

The NLPD chaplain serves in an unarmed, volunteer role and must maintain annual policy and Ohio Attorney General certifications.

If you see Chaplain Cooper out and about, feel free to give him a friendly wave!๐Ÿ‘‹

๐Ÿš” NLPD September 2026: Service, Safety & Accountability

Your New Lebanon Police Department officers were busy serving the village throughout September:

๐Ÿ“ž 380 calls for service
๐Ÿ˜๏ธ 526 proactive patrol activities
๐Ÿ“ 17 criminal reports and 3 arrests
๐Ÿ“‹ 24 informational memorandum reports
๐Ÿšฆ 56 traffic stops, with 16 people cited for 31 total violations

Serving the community also comes with necessary operating expenses. Just like families managing their household budgets, NLPD must carefully manage the costs of daily operations. September expenses included:

More than $2,500 in fuel for patrol vehicles
$5,800 for communications, including dispatch services and in-car computer connectivity

Behind these numbers is our commitment to being present, responding when needed, and serving our neighbors.

Your officers will continue to patrol with courage and commitment to the community while working to be responsible stewards of public funds.

Thank you, New Lebanon, for your continued support.
