Our volunteers assisted packaging 18,792 shelf stable meals at the Rotary Club of New London’s End Hunger Event this morning.

This is what American-led looks like. Most infectious disease outbreaks never make the news because CDC teams are on the frontlines detecting and defeating deadly pathogens, stopping threats across borders before they reach the United States. Keeping Americans safe is our number #1 goal.

Been vaccinating active duty Naval personnel since 6am with flu shots. Our 5th year doing this at the subbase. Addendum: did well over 700 personnel last count.

Today is World Mosquito Day. These little insects kill more than a million people worldwide and infect up to 7 million a year- 1 in 10 people worldwide. Due to climate change we are seeing the migration of mosquitos that were traditionally only found south in warmer areas coming north and bringing diseases such as Dengue and Zika.
