Today, along the quiet banks of the Thames River, we pause to remember and reflect.

On the anniversary of September 11, 2001, we honor the memory of all the innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courageous first responders who showed extraordinary selflessness in our nation’s darkest hour.

As a site dedicated to preserving history and community, Fort Trumbull stands today in solemn remembrance. Standing alongside our neighbors, including our friends at Coast Guard Station New London, we reaffirm our shared promise: We will never forget.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at Fort Trumbull! 🇺🇸✨

As we wrap up an incredible summer season along the banks of the Thames River, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who walked our historic grounds, explored our museum, and shared in 250 years of American history with us.

A special shoutout goes to our dedicated volunteers, park staff, and community supporters whose hard work keeps New London’s maritime and revolutionary heritage alive every single day!

Please note: Following this Labor Day weekend, our Visitor Center Museum and internal fort tours will close for the season, but our outdoor park grounds and fishing pier remain open for your year-round enjoyment! Come take a stroll, enjoy the river breeze, and catch the views before sunset.

How are you spending your final holiday weekend of the summer? Let us know below, and don’t forget to tag us in your park photos! 📸👇
