Two Educators, One Goal
Mrs. Cervoni and Mr. Kujat Inspire Young Minds Through Collaborative Teaching

Our district is committed to growing strong educators, not only through the continuous professional development of our own top-notch teaching team, but also by supporting those pursuing future careers in the classroom. We recently stopped into Mrs. Cervoni's 4th grade class, where Mr. Kujat, a student intern from the University of Michigan Flint, was leading an engaging math lesson on multiplication and equations. Students were laser-focused and hard at work solving problems, eagerly raising their hands to participate. "Talk with your elbow partner," Mr. Kujat guided students to collaborate on solutions while veteran teacher Mrs. Cervoni looked on with support as the classroom seamlessly hummed. Growing exceptional teachers is at the heart of our schools, which means honoring our outstanding current teachers while actively mentoring aspiring educators taking their first steps in the classroom. Thank you, Mrs. Cervoni, for setting the standard for great teaching and learning.

Delivering Stronger Community Connections, One Slice at a Time
How Our Community Partnership Makes Us Stronger

No matter how you slice it, community partnerships make a world of difference. A huge thank you to Little Caesars Pizza of Flushing for dedicating your ovens, time, and heart to our students every other week. Wednesday Pizza Day is hands-down the crowd favorite for Hornets (and for Kevin Cervoni and Christine Smith too!) We are grateful that Little Caesars steps up and shows kids what local support looks like in action. When schools and community partners join forces, we combine resources, energy, and care to create a supportive network where every student and neighborhood thrives. New Lothrop Area Public Schools values local business and organization partnerships because together, we’re building a connected, vibrant community where everyone succeeds. Epic Dedication. Lifelong Impact
Celebrating Mr. Dumond’s EPIC Recognition

At New Lothrop Area Public Schools, we believe that recognizing and celebrating one another is an important part of building a strong school community. That's why we launched the EPIC Impact Award, an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the incredible people who bring our mission to life every day. Surrounded by cheering students, Mr. Dumond was presented with the EPIC award, a well-deserved honor for an extraordinary educator who not only transforms his classroom, but even steps behind the wheel of a school bus, driven by a deep dedication. As Assistant Principal Mr. Weese read aloud the inspiring qualities from the nominating petition, it was clear just how much heart Mr. Dumond pours into ensuring New Lothrop students receive the very best. “Mr. Dumond goes above and beyond every single day,” said Weese. “He steps up whenever needed. Where the Magic Begins
Inside Mrs. Birchmeier’s Preschool Class

Stepping into Mrs. Birchmeier’s preschool classroom offered a heartwarming glimpse into the true magic of early childhood education. Surrounded by warmth and encouragement, these young learners are discovering the comfort and freedom to explore, be curious, create, and grow at their own pace. The joy in the room was unmistakable as our youngest Hornets proudly showed Superintendent Larner everything from their coloring projects to their favorite stuffed animals. Through her gentle guidance and enthusiasm, Mrs. Birchmeier is laying the essential groundwork for a lifelong love of learning, shaping their very first educational steps into a positive, joyful adventure. The true magic of Mrs. Birchmeier’s classroom lies in the nurturing foundation she builds, wrapping her young learners in confidence as they take their very first steps in their educational journey.
