We’re starting to get a little fall color! We love to see the change of seasons! Fall just may be the prettiest season, what do you think?

This silver maple is one of our favorite trees, especially in Fall. It just fits the season perfectly!

This door on the Eastlake sideboard is made by a technique called bookmatching.

Bookmatching is achieved by slicing open a piece of wood and opening it like a book, creating a mirror image. This door was bookmatched twice, so there are four mirror images.

We can see an animal face in the wood, can you? What does it look like to you? Let us know in the comments!

Did you know…

Victorians used to carve turnips into jack o’lanterns?

It’s true! The name “jack o’lantern” refers to a lantern carved from a root vegetable. While we associate it with pumpkins today, in the 19th century, pumpkins, turnips and even potatoes were carved into jack o’lanterns.

So today we carved turnips! We think they’re a little cute and a little scary! What do you think?
Will you carve a turnip or a pumpkin this year? 😁
