Our Staff vs Students volleyball game last week evoked some passionate responses , in a myriad of languages , during our Quarter 1 pep rally . Despite M. Sy's and M. Fall's best efforts, M. Ndao our Athletic Director helped clinch a victory for the student team this past week - a rematch may be in order soon ....

Our full immersion French curriculum courses do not mean we are teaching the students French vocabulary words; our scholars are exposed to both the French and English Language at the same rigorous levels and prepared for the best colleges around the world by classes like M. Martineau's cours d'éducation physique!

So unbelievably proud that not one but TWO teachers here at Lycee are being honoered as a New Orleans Excellence in Teaching recipient ! Toutes nos félicitations to Mme Nancy McKee, an english teacher at our high school campus, and M. Johan Mizart, an all-subjects teacher at our French Quarter elementary campus ! We can't wait to see you be honored at the Gala !

In celebration and awareness of Anti-Bullying month, our team showed out in bright orange to come together and make sure Lycee is a safe, warm, and welcoming place for children from every walk of life. Merci beaucoup to Mme Sherrier and Mme Pearly, our mental health and guidance counselors for spearheading this event !

La campagne électorale a commencé ! Our high school scholars were empassioned and commanding this week as they prepared and gave speeches in the race for positions on our Student Council . We are proud of their exuberance, genuine care for their school, and desire to be a positive leader in their community

Our scholars are not only academically gifted, but socially aware and intrinsically motivated. We want to give une salve d'applaudissements (round of applause) to Mlle Lilliana Niven, who was the recipient of the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal from The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution ! She was awarded this distinguishment to acknowledge her year of hard work, leadership and service in her community . Congratulations Lily !

Last week, our incomparable Dr. Dolliole led the charge with some of our students at the IGNITE High School Showcase, by NOLA PS. Hosted at the Louisiana Children's Museum , families of middle school students were invited to come speak to with high schools across the city to learn about academic offers, dual enrollment opprotunities, and meet with some seniors and staff of the school .

Thank you to Dr. Dolliole and all the students who volunteered their time - it was a rousing success !

✨Sous Les Étoiles✨

Last week , we invited out our PreK - 5 families to read under the stars , an evening when parents, students and their teachers enjoyed reading together and discussed our literacy plans . It was wonderful to have our parents come out and listen to the scholars joyfully read ! Check out our youngest PreK students expanding their french vocabulary 🇫🇷

M. Ngono and his students are reading classic French literature, and right now they are diving into Le Laboureur et ses Enfants (The Ploughman and His Children) by Jean de La Fontaine. M. Ngono is setting the bar high with this classic reading for 2nd graders!
