is home to both the Louisiana Collection and Special Collections. Both collections share staff and space on the 4th floor, but with a few key differences. The Louisiana Collection is open to the public and collects materials about New Orleans and Louisiana history. Material in this collection is searchable in the library catalog, and can be placed on hold (but can only be used in the library!). Special Collections collects materials about New Orleans and Louisiana history, but, also serves as the LSU New Orleans archives. These materials cannot be accessed by the public and can only be viewed by appointment. Additionally, Special Collections materials are not searchable in the library catalog and are instead listed in finding aids available on the library website. Check out our website for opening hours and more information! https://libguides.uno.edu/special

This Friday's post is brought to you by a more obscure part of 's collection - our archival magazines. The Cosmopolitan magazine you know today is a little bit different to this 1909 edition, which while still fashion-focused, contained longer essays on home and family life, such as this piece titled "The Man-Child". Follow social changes through the lens of fashion magazines like Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Ebony, and Harper's Bazaar using our archival collection, which is housed on the 2nd floor of the library πŸ’…πŸ—ž
