WE DID IT YA'LL
over 1 million pounds of food has been distributed from our food pantry to orleans residents by us, lowernine.org and second harvest food bank! since our brick-and-mortar food pantry opened in 2020, we've given away 1 million pounds of food to neighbors. upwards of 200 households visit our pantry and take home food for the week. pantry staples often include a protein, fresh or frozen fruits, and a variety of staples like rice, beans and pasta. In Louisiana 847,100 people benefit from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) SNAP and Medicaid recipients face increasing work requirements. volunteers with lowernine.org can work with the affordable home rebuild program or in the food pantry. Second Harvest and other partners also work with volunteers meeting needs in their communities. If you believe in the importance of equitable disaster recovery and food security, please consider making a donation to lowernine.org, a 501(c)(3) organization or
