Last night, we were excited to join our friends at Algiers Economic Development Foundation - AEDF to unveil the design for the 2026 Algiers Bonfire! We’re teaming up with NOMTOC to celebrate two krewes born in Algiers—95 years of ALLA and 75 years of NOMTOC—and the community we’re both proud to call home.

We can’t wait to see this design come to life and to celebrate with our neighbors, friends, and families along the river!

Save the date: Saturday, December 5, beginning at 3 p.m. on the Algiers Batture. 🔥

It’s officially October which means we are only 2 months put from our Holiday Bonfire & Concert 🔥

As we approach this beloved event we would like to give a special thanks to Betsie Gambel and Gambel Communications for so graciously allowing AEDF to host the Bonfire at the Algiers Batture every single year. We hope to keep this tradition running and continue strengthening our partnership with Gambel Communications.

Once again, thank you, Betsie. We cannot wait to be back on the Batture!

Special shout out and thanks to Ochsner Medical Center - Westbank Campus for returning as the 2026 Bonfire & Concert’s presenting sponsor!

At AEDF we cherish all partnerships and sponsorships but would just like to highlight the generosity of Ochsner and their on-going support of our Bonfire. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with them these past couple of years and we hope to continue collaborating and bring even more events and opportunities to Algiers.

Thank you, Ochsner West Bank.

Thursday, September 10, AEDF had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with the New Orleans Chamber to host the official ribbon cuttings for Mama Lu’s Kitchen’s Grand Opening and The Olive Branch Cafe’s Grand Re-Opening.

We were so warmed with the amount of community members who came out not only to support these magnificent businesses and all that they’ve accomplished, but to patronize them as well. Our celebration didn’t stop the hunger of these loyal customers, and we hope since Thursday, they’ve gained a few more.

Thank you, New Orleans Chamber for working with us. Thank you to Mama Lu’s and Olive Branch for allowing us to be apart of this special moment for you all. Thank you to Congressman Troy Carter, Senator Gary Carter Jr., State Representative Delisha Boyd, and Councilman Freddie King III for always supporting our businesses in Algiers and rewarding them with certifications of recognition and honors.

Sunday, September 13, AEDF had the absolute pleasure of attending Krewe of ALLA’s Sunday on the Point.

Yesterday was a day full of delicious food, neighborly fun and comradery! The Saints may have lost, but New Orleans continues to win in spirit and community.

Thank you to Krewe of ALLA for asking us to partner with you on this wonderful and successful event. And thank you to our sponsors:

Fifth District Savings Bank, Throw Dat!, American Safety, GEICO, Element Event Rental, Gulf Coast Bank & Trust, Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank, The Olive Branch Cafe, Ferdie’s Printing Service, Gambel Communications, and Westbank Business & Industry Association.

Investment in events such as Sunday on the Point is essential in maintaining a strong, cheerful community that shows up for one another.

We hope to have the opportunity to be apart of Sunday on the Point next year!
