As we welcome new board leadership, we also take a moment to celebrate those who have helped shape NORA along the way.

We’re excited to welcome Sandy Duet and Travis Phipps to NORA’s Board of Commissioners! Both join us at an exciting time, and we look forward to the insight and perspectives they’ll bring to the table as we continue working to move New Orleans forward.

We also want to recognize John Sullivan, who is closing out five years of service on our Board. Throughout his tenure, John has generously shared his time, knowledge and commitment to NORA’s mission. We’re grateful for the role he’s played in our work and the lasting impact of his service.

To Sandy and Travis, welcome aboard! And to John, thank you for five years of service.

Lower Ninth Ward neighbors: What should happen next?

Join the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority and the City of New Orleans on Tuesday, October 20, for a Community Conversation about adjudicated properties in the Lower Ninth Ward.

Participants will:

✓ Review information about approximately lots included in the initial research

✓ Learn how the adjudicated-property process works

✓ Discuss housing, stormwater management, urban agriculture, commercial uses, community spaces, and other possibilities

✓ Share what they want—and do not want—to see in the neighborhood

No decisions have been made about individual property uses, transfers, or future recipients. This is an early opportunity to learn, ask questions, and help inform what comes next.

📅 October 20, 2026

⏰ 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

📍 TEP Center 5909 St Claude Ave, New Orleans, LA 70117
