The next generation of Bison could be closer than they think. 😉

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Howard University to InspireNOLA for Howard Night, bringing together high school juniors and seniors from across New Orleans to explore what their future could look like at one of the nation’s most storied HBCUs. ❤️💙

Students heard from a Howard University representative and a panel of six Howard alumni from the Howard University Alumni Club of Louisiana. Alumni shared stories from their time on campus, how Howard shaped and prepared them for life beyond college, and where their journeys have taken them since graduation. ✨

After the panel, students and families had the opportunity to connect with the alumni and representative, ask questions, and get a closer look at what life as a Bison could hold. 🤝

Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their experiences with our future graduates. We hope our families left feeling inspired, informed and excited about what comes next. 🔥

To our future Bison, we can’t wait to see where your journey takes you. 🦬

Andrew Wilson students, families and teachers came together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, creating a day centered around sharing, connection and pride. 🌎

Families helped make the celebration special by preparing and sharing food, bringing a taste of their traditions into our school community. Students also proudly represented different countries with flags, creating a beautiful reminder of just how many cultures and stories are represented within our Wilson family. 👏

What made the celebration meaningful was the opportunity to learn from one another, share traditions and celebrate the heritage that each family brings with them. 🌮

At Andrew Wilson, culture is something we celebrate together. 💚

Edna Karr took over Prime Time. 💜💛

From practice to the Monday Night Football halftime stage, our band and dancers put in the work, brought the energy and represented New Orleans during the Saints’ 20th anniversary Domecoming celebration. 👏

We were honored to perform alongside Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Eric Church, Kirk Franklin, Juvenile, Cyril Neville, and Ivan Neville as some of the biggest names in music and New Orleans culture came together for this special celebration. 🎶

A huge thank you to the NFL and New Orleans Saints for inviting us to be part of this moment and giving Karr another opportunity to show the world what New Orleans sounds like. ⚜️

This is the kind of opportunity that can only happen when students are given the chance to dream big, put in the work, and step onto stages they never imagined. ✨

At InspireNOLA, we believe our students should have opportunities to experience more, see more and become more. This is what it means to Inspire The City. 🩵

Pierre Capdau Charter School students came together for a Hispanic Heritage Celebration that brought learning to life in the best way. 🔥

Students danced, explored Hispanic food and cultural traditions, learned about historic figures and their contributions, and discovered the many traditions and stories that make Hispanic cultures so rich and vibrant. 💃🏽

There was plenty of joy throughout the day, but behind every activity was an opportunity for our students to learn something new, ask questions, and celebrate the cultures that shape our world. 🌎

From the classroom to the dance floor, Capdau showed us that learning can be joyful, meaningful and full of culture. 🩵

Today, we brought our InspireNOLA dads together for Breakfast for Dads, creating a space to connect, share a meal and celebrate the men who show up for our students and our schools in so many ways. 🫶

Our dads heard from school leaders and students who shared their perspectives on fatherhood, family and the impact that showing up can have on a child’s life. ✨

And we had plenty of laughs along the way, thanks to comedian Frank White, who kept the room laughing with jokes about the realities of raising kids, from homework to everything in between. 😂

To every dad, grandfather, father figure and mentor who continues to show up for our students, thank you. Your presence, support and encouragement make a difference, and we’re grateful to have you as part of the InspireNOLA family. 🩵

Here’s to the dads who keep showing up, keep cheering their kids on and, every now and then, have to figure out that homework right alongside them. 🔥

Sometimes the legacy you’re building reaches further than you ever imagined. 💭

For Chef Blake of Tasty Treats Truck, it started with her children. She wanted to build something for them, create a foundation for her family, and give them something they could carry forward. 👏

But along the way, that vision became bigger than her own family.

Chef Blake wants to be the woman young brown girls can look at and say, “I can do that, too.” She wants them to see someone who chased her dreams, built something of her own and made a space for herself in a world they might one day want to step into. 💕

That’s the legacy she’s building.

And her ultimate goal? Becoming a New Orleans staple. A name people know, a place people seek out and, just like the women and businesses who inspired her, something that becomes part of what makes this city special. 🏙️

Hear more from Chef Blake in Episode 3 of the Inspire The City Podcast, out now on YouTube. 🎙️
