At 3:40pm members of the New Paltz Fire Department was dispatched for a reported shed fire on North Manheim Blvd, Car 43 arrived on scene and found a 10x14 foot shed engulfed in flames, due to the fire the surrounded brush ignited which started a brush fire approximately 1/4 of an acre in size. Mutual aid from Highland Fire Department and the Modena Fire Department had been requested to the scene.

Also assisting at the scene, the New Paltz Rescue Squad and the Town of New Paltz Police Department

Investigation of the cause of the fire is ruled accidental in nature.

It was a busy Friday for the dedicated volunteers of the New Paltz Fire Department. Throughout the day, our members responded to 8 calls for service, ranging from fire and carbon monoxide alarms to motor vehicle accidents and flooding conditions. In addition to responding to these emergencies, members also participated in a fire prevention detail.

1112hrs-Car vs Motorcycle-S Manheim Blvd

1511hrs-Fire alarm-SUNY New Paltz

1532hrs-Flooding Condition-RT 32 N

1648hrs-Auto accident-Main St

1858hrs-Fire alarm-Valdine Rd

All calls were answered by the dedicated volunteers of the New Paltz Fire Department, who continue to give their time and commitment to protecting and serving our community.

3 - No incident found on Arrival

Of the 72 calls it is broken down into 5 areas of response.

On Sunday October 3rd members of the New Paltz Fire Department participated in Clintondale Fire Departments 100th Anniversary parade. Congrats Clintondale Fire Department.

Last night September 28, members gathered for their Monday night training, they conducted several evolutions on air pack usage conducted searches and the use of the thermal imaging camera.

All members are Volunteers putting in the extra training to ensure they are ready to better serve the community of New Paltz.
