This week, our BLAST nominee is Blazer SRO, Deputy Julie Schenck. Deputy Schenck was nominated by Blazer educator Beth Pool.

She wrote, “I would like to nominate Deputy Julie Schenck for BLAST! Deputy Schenck comes to National Trail every day prepared to keep all of us safe. She is always ready to defend us and shares concerns with us about school zone speed, just another way she wants to keep our students safe. She comes every day with a smile and is ready to talk to students, staff, and parents about the day or matters that concern them. Deputy Schenck participates in our school spirit days, like participating in an introductory 'Walk In Song.' She donated a LOT of socks to our 'Sock-tober' collection, which is our mission collection during our Homecoming spirit week. Deputy Schenck has embraced the National Trail culture and contributes daily to why it is truly better to be a Blazer! Thank you, Deputy Schenck, for all you do and especially for keeping us safe!”

Blazer Nation, you ROCKED our SOCKS! 🧦

At Friday's pep assembly, the director and founder of Shoes 4 the Shoeless, Kris Horlacher, and Danny Downs came to collect our donation. Thank you to our school liaison, Aubrey Dunn, for helping lead us in this endeavor.

The elementary school collected 448 pairs of socks!

The middle school collected 334 pairs of socks!

The high school collected 337 pairs of socks!

Earning us a grand total of 1,119 pairs! Way to go, National Trail students and community members! Together, we were able to make a BIG impact. Thank you! 🧡🤎

This is our final push for sock donations as we prepare to make our school-based donation tomorrow with the socks we have collected, K-12! Please bring all last-minute donations to school tomorrow, Friday, October 9.

Our community partner, Shoes 4 the Shoeless, will be at the Homecoming Pep Rally to receive our donation. Their mission directly benefits and supports students in our district and county.
Our hope is to be able to provide them with a HUGE number of socks!

Any community donations can be brought in to the main office for collection. 🧡🤎

With the relentless effort of our high school students, our school has been transformed into a road trip filled with pit stops and school spirit! Take a look at the incredibly creative hallway decorations that students designed as a part of their class competitions to make this Homecoming Week a week to remember! 🧡🤎
