Alrighty folks. It looks like we are gonna get wet this afternoon, but hopefully the storms will stay north of us.

For our baseball fans, it looks like the rain will hold off since game time was changed. Fingers crossed and Go Guardians!

Barnhill Road bridge (County Road 68) in Midvale closed until further notice

Effective immediately, the Barnhill Road bridge over U.S. Route 250 in Midvale is closed to all traffic due to structural damage. The ramps to/from U.S. Route 250 will remain open at the interchange, though drivers cannot cross the bridge.

Currently, all lanes of U.S. Route 250 will remain open.

Background:

Several weeks ago, the bridge was struck by a vehicle hauling heavy machinery, resulting in damage to several beams and reducing traffic to one lane with temporary signals. Following regular monitoring and inspections, ODOT inspectors today discovered significant cracking on one of the damaged bridge beams, prompting the immediate full closure out of an abundance of caution.

Next Steps & Timeline:

ODOT is actively developing a permanent repair solution. An exact reopening date is currently unknown. Further updates will be provided as project plans and timelines are finalized.

Drivers are encouraged to use an alternative route

Good afternoon, T County! Here is your construction update for this weekend!

Currently no active projects or traffic impacts on I-77 in Tuscarawas County. WOOHOO!!!!!

State Route 39 resurfacing east of Sugarcreek: A project to resurface nearly four miles of SR 39, starting on the east side of Sugarcreek near Dutch Valley Drive and continuing east to Pyle Road. Resurfacing work will occur only at night, with flaggers directing traffic. Estimated Completion: September 30, 2026.

West 3rd Street closure in Uhrichsville: The West 3rd Street bridge is closed from Water Street to West Jay Street for a bridge replacement project from July 13-October 31. Estimated Completion: October 31, 2026.

County Road 68 (Barnhill Road) traffic impact: The bridge carrying Barnhill Road (County Road 68) over U.S. 250 in Midvale is reduced to one lane. The lane restriction is in place out of an abundance of caution until repairs can be made. In September 2026, a vehicle carrying machinery struck the bridge while traveling westbound on U.S. 250. ODOT is working toward a permanent fix, and the bridge will remain reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals until that work is complete, which is estimated to take a year.

Have a safe and fun-filled weekend!

You also don't know what maybe under that water. A roadway may have washed away and it is now deeper than what you thought! Again, please don't take the chance!
