This week our public works department posted litter signs throughout the parish thanks to a grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful and Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser. Keep Pointe Coupee beautiful by reporting illegal dumping.

A quick reminder to help keep our garbage collection safe and running smoothly! 🗑️

Please do not place batteries, combustibles, propane tanks, or other flammable materials in your household garbage. These items can pose serious safety risks during collection and disposal.

Meet Jamie Chustz, our Animal Services Officer and Manager! 🐾

For the past four years, Jamie has been dedicated to protecting and caring for pets throughout Pointe Coupee Parish. She has also been instrumental in the continued improvements to our animal shelter, helping create a safer, better environment for the animals in our care.

We’re grateful for Jamie’s hard work, compassion, and commitment to serving both the animals and people of Pointe Coupee Parish.

A look back at a familiar piece of Pointe Coupee history. 📸

These photos show Tropical Gardens, a landmark bar, restaurant and fishing destination on False River. The first captures the original building during high water in 1953, while the second shows its log cabin successor some three decades later.

Road improvements are continuing across Pointe Coupee Parish! 🚧

As part of the parish's expanded 2026 road improvement program, crews are working to rehabilitate roads throughout the parish to provide safer, smoother travel for residents.

This year's $2 million program includes more than 52,000 linear feet of road milling and overlay. Combined with 2025 projects, the parish has invested $3.8 million in road improvements over the past two years. Since 2019, 194 parish roads have been improved.

Projects are prioritized using an independent road assessment, ensuring the roads in the greatest need are addressed first.
