What a beautiful day on the water!
Members from all Carter Burden Network centers recently came together for a wonderful afternoon aboard the Bateaux Lunch Cruise, enjoying great food, laughter, music, and meaningful connections while sailing along the Hudson River.
As we cruised through New York Harbor, participants took in breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the iconic New York City skyline, all while celebrating community, friendship, and the joy of shared experiences.

Members from our Roosevelt Island Older Adult Center enjoyed a hands-on stained glass inspired art program in collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York . This week’s activity focused on creating stained glass style artwork, as older adults explored creativity and self-expression through color and design.
Participants shared conversation, laughter, and encouragement in a warm, supportive space that fostered creativity, connection, and a sense of accomplishment. In the photos, you’ll see Nikki, a new member who enjoys participating in the art programming offered at our center and shares that art has become a form of therapy for her.
Special thanks to The MET for providing the art boxes and materials that made this workshop possible.

May is Older Americans Month!
At Carter Burden Network, we are celebrating the contributions, wisdom, and resilience of older adults in our community while continuing to support healthy aging through our Health & Wellness programming at our centers.
This year’s national theme, “Champion Your Health,” highlights the importance of prevention, wellness, and personal responsibility in aging well. Through our fitness classes, nutrition education, health workshops, falls prevention programs, and opportunities for social connection, we help older adults stay active, informed, empowered, and engaged in supporting their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
We are grateful for the older adults who continue to inspire our communities through their experiences, leadership, and strength. Together, we can promote healthy lifestyles, meaningful connections, and supportive environments where older adults can thrive at every stage of life.
