WE DID IT! has passed!
NY's constitution will now protect our reproductive freedoms, including abortion, and protect every New Yorker from government discrimination, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, pregnancy status, disability status, or whether someone is LGBT.
We are so grateful to our 500+ partner organizations who spearheaded the charge to defend our rights and freedoms. And we're indebted to the phenomenal volunteers from all over NY who canvassed, phonebanked, and talked to their friends and family about the importance of Prop 1.
Most of all, we thank all of the millions of New Yorkers who voted , undeterred by a last minute, multi-million dollar smear campaign from out-of-state, anti-abortion billionaires determined to scare and divide voters.
While the world waits for the national election results, tonight, New York State lived up to our motto, “ever upward,” and took an extraordinary step forward in our enduring work to build freedom for all.
Thank you all!
