Access, opportunity, & resources for communities to serve | NYC Mayor's Office | Not monitored 24/7

NYC Service was launched in April 2009 to lead the nation in answering President Obama’s national call to volunteerism. NYC Service aims to drive volunteer resources to six impact areas where New York City’s needs are greatest:
• Strengthening communities
• Helping neighbors in need
• Improving education
• Protecting our environment
• Increasing public health
• Enhancing emergency preparedness

To build the blueprint for corporate engagement and service, we conducted informational interviews with social impact professionals from 42 corporations to hear firsthand the challenges social impact professionals faced, and recommendations on improving the landscape of corporate volunteerism in New York City. Across the many conversations, various themes emerged ranging from location and type of service projects to leadership buy-in and business goals.

Join Chief Service Officer Laura Rog and social impact leaders from National Grid Foundation, Mastercard, and MetLife Foundation to hear their perspectives on the service sector. Panelists will dive into challenges faced and opportunities to align efforts. Register to listen in and ask questions!

Art, dance, and culture are woven into the identity of New York City.🗽🧡

They create spaces for civic voice, connection, and expression, and help New Yorkers share their experiences — especially in historically underserved communities.

Volunteers and NYC Civic Corps members like Heidi helped plan the 20th annual Dance Parade, making it more accessible for dance groups from schools and older adult centers to participate.

Earlier this month, 39 youth groups from across New York City came together at BMCC for our first Youth Action 50 Summit.

Young people showcased their Community Action Projects, connected with Youth Action Champions and city agency leaders, and explored how their ideas can help shape stronger, more responsive communities. The summit celebrated youth voice, leadership, and civic engagement while recognizing the incredible impact young people are making across the city.

The future is brighter because of their leadership. 🌟

Because they volunteer, these New Yorkers got a behind-the-scenes look at City Hall. 🏛️✨

As part of the Every Action Every New Yorker campaign, volunteers can link up with other volunteers at iconically New York cultural activities or service projects. Every action - big or small - creates a culture of service in NYC 🧡

Shoutout to these volunteers! This is what civic engagement looks like.💙
