شاركت الدكتورة نُهى عمارة، حرم السفير إيهاب عوض، المندوب الدائم لجمهورية مصر العربية لدى الأمم المتحدة بنيويورك، ومجموعة سيدات البعثة المصرية، في فعاليات البازار الدولي السنوي للأمم المتحدة لعام 2026 بمقر الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك.

وحرص الجناح المصري على إبراز جوانب من التراث والثقافة المصرية من خلال عرض المشغولات اليدوية والمنتجات المصرية المميزة، إلى جانب تشكيلة من الأطعمة والحلويات المصرية التقليدية التي لاقت إقبالًا واسعًا من الزوار.

كما شاركت البعثه في السحب الخيري للبازار بتقديم ١٦ جائزة قيمة، تبرعت بها البعثه المصريه والمؤسسات الوطنية المصرية وجمعيات الصداقة المصرية الأمريكية و أبناء الجالية المصرية في نيويورك ونيوجيرسي، في صورة تعكس روح التعاون والدعم المجتمعي وحرص المصريين على المساهمة في دعم للأهداف الإنسانية التي يخصص لها عائد البازار.

وجاءت المشاركة المصرية في إطار دعم الأهداف الإنسانية للبازار، والتعريف بثراء الحضارة المصرية وتعزيز التبادل الثقافي بين الشعوب، حيث حظي الجناح المصري بإشادة واسعة من الزوار لما جسده من روح الأصالة وتنوع الثقافة المصرية.

Ambassador Ihab Awad, PR of Egypt to the UN was pleased to head Egypt’s delegation to the 4th High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” in Dushanbe, and to co-chair the third thematic dialogue on “water and the planet” along with Japan, in the run up to our continued partnership for the 2026 UN Water Conference. Egypt remains committed to advancing cooperation, strengthening multilateral water action, and streamlining water in the multilateral processes.

ألقى السفير إيهاب عوض، مندوب مصر الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة، بيان المجموعة العربية اليوم ٢٨ إبريل الجاري في جلسة مجلس الأمن حول التطورات في الشرق الأوسط، حيث أكد المندوب الدائم علي إدانة المجموعة العربية بأشد العبارات الانتهاكات الإسرائيلية غير القانونية في الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، بما في ذلك الاستيطان والتهجير القسري، واستهداف المنظمات الإنسانية والوكالات الأممية وعلي رأسها وكالة والأونروا، والاقتحامات المتكررة للمسجد الأقصى، مع دعوة إسرائيل للوقف الفوري لهذه الممارسات، والالتزام بكافة قرارات مجلس الأمن وآخرها قرار ٢٨٠٣، والالتزام بفتح المعابر والنفاذ الكامل للمساعدات الإنسانية ، وإطلاق جهود إعادة الإعمار في غزة، مع التأكيد على توحيد الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة تحت سلطة واحدة.

نوه السفير إيهاب عوض إلى ترحيب المجموعة العربية بتمديد وقف الأعمال العدائية في لبنان، مع مطالبة إسرائيل بالانسحاب الكامل من الأراضي اللبنانية وتنفيذ قرار مجلس الأمن 1701، وإدانة الهجمات على المدنيين والبنية التحتية ومقار اليونيفيل، وكذا الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية على سوريا، مع التشديد علي ضرورة الانسحاب الفوري من الجولان السوري المحتل.

أكد المندوب الدائم في الختام، على إدانة المجموعة العربية للهجمات الإيرانية الآثمة على عدة دول عربية، باعتبارها عدواناً سافراً على سيادة تلك الدول ووحدة أراضيها ، مع دعوة مجلس الأمن لتحمل مسؤولياته وتنفيذ قرار المجلس رقم 2817.

في إطار الدورة الحادية عشر لمؤتمر مراجعة معاهدة عدم الانتشار النووي في نيويورك خلال الفترة من ٢٧ إبريل إلى ٢٢ مايو ٢٠٢٦.

شارك السفير إيهاب عوض، مندوب مصر الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة ورئيس وفد مصر لدي مؤتمر المراجعة، في الحدث الجانبي الذي نظمه معهد الأمم المتحدة لبحوث نزع السلاحUNIDIR بالتعاون مع بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي بعنوان "عصر جديد للطاقة النووية في الشرق الأوسط".

وأكد المندوب الدائم على حق الدول في استخدام الطاقة النووية للأغراض السلمية كركن أساسي من معاهدة عدم الانتشار
، مشدداً على أن هذا الحق لا يجب أن يخضع لقيود أو شروط تمييزية.

وتطرق السفير ايهاب عوض إلى رؤية مصر 2030 واستراتيجيتها المتكاملة للطاقة، موضحاً أن مشروع محطة الضبعة النووية يمثل نقلة نوعية بقدرة 4800 ميغاوات ويتم تنفيذه بالتنسيق الكامل مع الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية، مبرزاً مشاريع الربط الكهربائي الإقليمي مع عدد من الدول العربية والأوروربية، بما يسهم في تحويل مصر لمركز إقليمي للطاقة.

وشدد المندوب الدائم لمصر لدى الأمم المتحدة على أهمية تطبيق الضمانات الشاملة للوكالة الدولية على جميع المنشآت النووية في المنطقة، ودعم إقامة منطقة خالية من الأسلحة النووية وأسلحة الدمار الشامل في الشرق الأوسط تنفيذا لقرار ١٩٩٥ الصادر عن مؤتمر المراجعة في مايو ١٩٩٥ كجزء من صفقة المد اللانهائي لمعاهدة عدم الانتشار النووي بما سيسهم في تعزيز مستويات الثقة التي تتيح آفاقاً ارحب للتعاون والتكامل الإقليمي في هذا المجال.

In the framework of the Eleventh Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in New York, held from 27 April to 22 May 2026:
Ambassador Ihab Awad, Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Head of the Egyptian Delegation to the Review Conference, participated in a side event organized by the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) in cooperation with the European Union Delegation. The event was titled “A New Era of Nuclear Energy in the Middle East.”
The Permanent Representative affirmed the right of states to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes as a fundamental pillar of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, stressing that this right must not be subject to any discriminatory restrictions or conditions.
Ambassador Ihab Awad highlighted Egypt’s Vision 2030 and its integrated energy strategy, explaining that the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project represents a qualitative leap with a capacity of 4,800 megawatts. He noted that the project is being implemented in full coordination with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He also highlighted regional electricity interconnection projects with several Arab and European countries, which contribute to transforming Egypt into a regional hub for energy.
Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations emphasized the importance of applying comprehensive IAEA safeguards to all nuclear facilities in the region. He reiterated Egypt’s support for establishing a zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East, in implementation of the 1995 Resolution issued by the Review Conference in May 1995 as part of the package for the indefinite extension of the Non-Proliferation Treaty. He added that this would contribute to enhancing levels of confidence, thereby opening broader prospects for regional cooperation and integration in this field.

شارك السفير إيهاب عوض، مندوب مصر الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك، اليوم ٢٧ أبريل الجاري في جلسة النقاش المفتوح بمجلس الأمن حول أمن وحماية الممرات المائية الدولية.

أكد المندوب الدائم على محددات الموقف المصري من ملف أمن الملاحة البحرية، والتي ترتكز على قدسية أمن وحرية الملاحة في الممرات المائية الدولية، باعتباره التزام ثابت وأصيل لا يتعين المساس به، بما يتوافق مع قواعد القانون الدولي ذات الصلة، ورفض أية إجراءات أو تهديدات من شأنها عرقلة الملاحة الدولية أو تعطيلها، اتصالاً بما تشكله هذه الأعمال من تهديد مباشر للسلم والأمن الدوليين.

شدد المندوب الدائم على وقوع المسؤولية الرئيسية عن الترتيبات الخاصة بالممرات المائية الدولية على عاتق الدول المشاطئة لتلك الممرات، وضرورة الحفاظ على الطابع السلمي للممرات البحرية ودورها في دعم استقرار الاقتصاد الدولي، والتحسب من التوجهات والمساعٍي الهادفة إلى عسكرة تلك الممرات الملاحية أو تدويلها بطريقة تؤثر سلباً على الاستقرار الإقليمي.

Ambassador Ihab Awad, Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, participated today, 27 April, in the open debate session held by the Security Council on the security and protection of international waterways.

The Permanent Representative affirmed the key elements of Egypt’s position on the issue of maritime navigation security. These are based on the sanctity of the security and freedom of navigation in international waterways, which Egypt considers a firm and inherent commitment that must not be violated. This stance is consistent with the relevant rules of international law. He rejected any measures or threats that could obstruct or disrupt international navigation, given that such actions constitute a direct threat to international peace and security.

The Permanent Representative stressed that the primary responsibility for arrangements concerning international waterways lies with the coastal states bordering those waterways. He emphasized the need to preserve the peaceful character of maritime corridors and their vital role in supporting the stability of the international economy, while remaining vigilant against trends and efforts aimed at militarizing these navigational routes or internationalizing them in ways that negatively affect regional stability.

ألقى السيد السفير ايهاب عوض، المندوب الدائم لمصر لدى الأمم المتحدة، بيان مصر خلال نقاش الجمعية العامة للأمم المُتحدة إتصالاً بمُمارسة حق النقض خلال الاجتماع الـ10130 لمجلس الأمن يوم 7 أبريل 2026 حول تطورات الأوضاع في الشرق الأوسط.

أكد المندوب الدائم علي تضامن مصر الكامل مع الدول العربية الشقيقة بالخليج والأردن والعراق، ودعمها الكامل لسيادتها وسلامة ووحدة أراضيها، مع ادانة الإعتداءات غير المقبولة وغير المُبررة مع هذه الأقطار العربية الشقيقة، ووقوفها إلى جانبها في مواجهة أي تهديدات تمس أمنها واستقرارها.

شدد علي موقف مصر الداعي لضرورة الالتزام الكامل بميثاق الأمم المُتحدة وبقواعد القانون الدولي، واستمرار مصر في جهودها الممتدة منذ اكتر من عام لبناء الثقة وتوفير المُناخ المُناسب بغرض الإسهام في جهود وقف التصعيد، وُصولاً إلى وقف إطلاق النار والانتهاء إلى تسوية شاملة ومستدامة، مع الترحيب بالخُطوات الأولية التي اتخذها سكرتير عام الأمم المُتحدة في التعامل مع هذا الصراع، وبإعلان الرئيس الأمريكي يوم 8 أبريل الجاري المُوافقة على تعليق العمليات العسكرية في المنطقة لمدة أسبوعين، وما تمثله هذه الخُطوة من تطور إيجابي يتعين البناء عليه نحو تحقيق التهدئة المنشودة واحتواء التصعيد، ووقف العمليات العسكرية واحترام حرية الملاحة الدولية.

During the discussion in the UNGA concerning the exercise of the veto, in connection with the 1030th meeting of the Security Council on 7 April 2026 regarding developments in the situation in the Middle East.

Ambassador Ihab Awad, The PR of Egypt to the UN, affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with the brotherly Arab states in the Gulf, Jordan, and Iraq, and its complete support for their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity.

He condemned the unacceptable and unjustified aggressions against these brotherly Arab countries and expressed Egypt’s firm stand by their side in confronting any threats to their security and stability.
He emphasized Egypt’s position, which calls for full commitment to the Charter of the United Nations and the rules of international law.

He also highlighted Egypt’s ongoing efforts, extending for more than a year, to build confidence and create the appropriate climate aimed at contributing to de-escalation efforts, leading to a ceasefire and ultimately to a comprehensive and sustainable settlement.

He welcomed the initial steps taken by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in addressing this conflict, as well as the announcement by the U.S. President on 8 April of the current month approving the suspension of military operations in the region for a period of two weeks. He described this step as a positive development that must be built upon to achieve the desired calm, contain the escalation, halt military operations, and respect international freedom of navigation.

شاركت اليوم في جلسة مجلس الأمن – تحت الرئاسة الصومالية – حول الأوضاع في الشرق الأوسط.

سلطت الضوء خلال الجلسة على قمة شرم الشيخ للسلام، وما مثلته من خطوة هامة تجسدت فيها الإرادة الجماعية للمجتمع الدولي لتحقيق السلام العادل في الشرق الأوسط، مع رفض أي أفكار من شأنها تهجير الفلسطينيين من أراضيهم، أو تقسيم قطاع غزة أو فصله عن الضفة الغربية.

أكدت على موقف مصر الثابت فيما يتعلق بحتمية الالتزام الأمين بتنفيذ اتفاق شرم الشيخ، وقرار مجلس الأمن رقم 2803، ودعم اللجنة الوطنية لإدارة قطاع غزة ودور مجلس السلام في هذا الصدد، بما يعزز ترتيبات وقف إطلاق النار، وتسهيل النفاذ الآمن والكامل للمساعدات الإنسانية، وتكثيف المساعي لإطلاق جهود التعافي المبكر وإعادة إعمار قطاع غزة، ونددت باستمرار انتهاك إسرائيل للقانون الدولي، مع مطالبتها بالتوقف الفوري عن كافة الاعتداءات الممنهجة بحق الفلسطينيين.

شددت في الختام، على استمرار دور مصر البارز في دعم سبل تنفيذ رؤيتها القائمة على أن السلام العادل والدائم في الشرق الأوسط لن يتحقق بفرض الأمر الواقع، وإنما عبر معالجة الجذور الحقيقية للصراعات، وفي مقدمتها إنهاء الاحتلال واحترام القانون الدولي والالتزام بقرارات الأمم المُتحدة.

I participated today in the Security Council session – under the Somali Presidency – on the situation in the Middle East.

I highlighted the role of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, which represented a decisive step towards opening a new chapter that reflects the collective will of the international community to achieve a just peace in the Middle East, while rejecting any ideas that would lead to the displacement of Palestinians from their lands, or the division of the Gaza Strip or its separation from the West Bank.

I reaffirmed Egypt's firm position regarding the necessity of implementing Sharm Elsheikh agreement, Security Council Resolution 2803, and supporting the national committee for the administration of Gaza , and the role of the Board of Peace in this regard, with aim of pushing forward the arrangements for a ceasefire, facilitating safe and full access to humanitarian aid, and intensifying efforts to launch early recovery and reconstruction initiatives in the Gaza Strip.

I also condemned the continued violation of international law by Israel, calling for an immediate halt to all systematic assaults against Palestinians.

I emphasized in the end, the continued role of Egypt in supporting its vision that a just and lasting peace in the Middle East will not be achieved by trying to impose new realities on the ground, but rather by addressing the root causes of the conflicts, foremost among them ending the occupation, respecting international law, and implementing the United Nations resolutions.

شاركت اليوم في جلسة النقاش المفتوح بمجلس الأمن - تحت الرئاسة الصومالية للمجلس - حول "تعزيز سيادة القانون لصون السلم والأمن الدوليين؛

أكدت على حتمية تعزيز مسار إصلاح الأمم المتحدة لدعم استعادة فاعليتها في الاستجابة للتحديات الراهنة وفقاً لميثاق الأمم المتحدة وقواعد القانون الدولي دون انتقائية.

كما نوهت إلى أن مستقبل السلم والأمن الدوليين مرهون بقدرتنا الجماعية على صون الميثاق، وإعلاء مبادئ العدالة والتعددية والعمل المُشترك، حفاظاً على استقرار النظام الدولي.


I participated today in the open debate at the Security Council—under the Somali presidency—on “Re-affirming rule of law: pathways of reinvigorating peace, justice and multilateralism”.

I emphasized the necessity of advancing the reform process of the UN to restore its effectiveness in addressing current challenges, in accordance with the UN Charter and the principles of international law without selectivity.

I also highlighted that the future of international peace and security depends on our collective ability to uphold the Charter, and engage in joint efforts to preserve the stability of the international system.
