YAMA Action is a 501c(4) driven to serve the Yemeni-American community through civic engagement, organizing and advocacy.
It is our belief that our community needs to amplify its voice to inform policies before they are formed. Our community requires a sustained effort of engagement that seeks long-term changes that reflect the values and positions of our community on the local, state and federal level.

On this 3rd Yemeni American Advocacy Day at the U.S. Capitol, we were reminded that our voices matter not only in the halls of Congress but also at the ballot box. As Yemeni Americans, our power comes from being engaged in our elections — locally and nationally. To build a stronger future for our community, we must continue showing up, speaking out, and voting.

YAMA Action is a vehicle to educate, engage and empower the Yemeni American community. Since our inception, through the Bodega Strike on February 2, 2017, we’ve come to realize that we can no longer live in the shadows but rather amplify our voices and let our presence be known in the streets and at the ballot box.
