When came to , and patients began to arrive at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, our nurses were understandably concerned for themselves and their families.

Yet when NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center's Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Courtney Vose saw a photo of with a mask on, it changed everything. She was reminded of how her teams quickly channeled their fear into grit, and felt inspired to write a haiku in honor of the who stared anxiety and adversity in the face — saving countless lives.
