Proud to announce alongside Councilman Frank Morano and MW Kamillah Hanks over $5 million in allocations that will help Northwell Health Staten Island University Hospital enhance aesthetics, improve workstations, and reconfigure rooms in the Main Lobby, the Intensive Care Unit, the Cardiac Care Unit, and the 4th Floor unit in the Prince’s Bay campus and to convert underutilized office space into rooms for medical care on Seaview Avenue. It will include new equipment as well. These needed improvements are needed to create a more professional, welcoming, and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Staten Islanders deserve the best care in the best facilities, and our Delegation is committed to that.

After another sweep of the district, I sent letters to the DOT requesting they repair faded street markings in both the Brooklyn and Staten Island portions of the district. If you see any faded street markings that aren’t on this list, please reach out to our office and we will let contact DOT for repair.

The rain couldn’t stop me from joining retired FDNY Lt. Enrico Boletti, the National Council of Columbia Associations in Civil Service, Inc. and the Columbus Citizens Foundation at the annual wreath laying ceremony at Columbus Circle. These Italian-Americans are the pride of the uniformed services. Thank you to them for all they do for us each day and for keeping the spirit of alive in the Five Boroughs and beyond.

It was great being at the White House for its annual event led by President Donald J. Trump with Councilman Frank Morano, Joe Borelli, and so many good friends! What a great celebration of Italian-Americans. Thank you to the President for always supporting our community and its traditions!

Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating, and due to the forecasted rain, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Fall Festival.

We were looking forward to a wonderful afternoon with our community, but we’re already planning to bring everyone together for a Spring Festival next year!

Yesterday was the Italian Caucus’s celebration of at City Hall. It was a great evening of Italian pride in our shared history and culture as well as the countless contributions of Italian-Americans to our country. Congratulations to our honorees Mayor Rudy W. Giuliani, Chazz Palminteri, and Rosanna Scotto for their well-deserved accolades. Also, proud to recognize Scott LoBaido for his unabashed patriotism and to celebrate his recovery. Thank you especially to our Co-Chairs Joann Ariola and Frank Morano and Council Member Vickie Paladino for always being such tremendous champions of our community.
