There have been so many proud moments for NYBA in 2025 -- and here is one more! Congratulations to our President & CEO Clare Cusack on being named to the Power Women of Manhattan 2025 list by Schneps Media! Clare received the award at an event last week, where she sat down with the legendary Vicki Schneps to talk about what most inspires Clare's leadership at NYBA. Here's a hint: it's bankers and all they do for their customers and communities every day!

NYBA President & CEO Clare Cusack and team welcomed bank leaders from across New York State to our annual Community Bank CEO Roundtable this week at The Thayer Hotel at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. After two days of deep discussions on a range of topics from AI to stablecoin, bankers toured the hallowed and historic West Point campus and then competed fiercely in the first ever Iron Ch(i)ef culinary competition under the direction of Chris Hettinger, Executive Chef of The Thayer Hotel!

NYBA President & CEO Clare Cusack spent Friday afternoon with dozens of enthusiastic and engaged fourth graders at P.S.197 in Harlem, joining Assemblymember Jordan Wright (D-Harlem) for a read-aloud of “Ella the Banker.” We are quite certain that there are several future bankers and small business owners in this photo! This event was part of NYBA's enduring commitment to financial literacy. Our thanks to AM Wright and the educators at P.S.197 for partnering with NYBA on this mission, and for introducing NYBA to such an inspiring group of students.

NYBA wrapped up three days of meetings and events in Albany this week, with an enthusiastic group of bankers spreading the word with lawmakers about all the great things banks do for their communities! NYBA President & CEO Clare Cusack welcomed State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli to open The Albany Visit program. After hearing from several legislative leaders, bankers went up on the Hill to meet with Assembly Black and Puerto Rican Caucus Chair Michaelle Solages, Assembly Banks Committee Chair Clyde Vanel, a thrilling and unexpected invitation to the Assembly chamber floor by Hudson Valley Assemblymember Brian Maher and many more. NYBA thanks Senate Banks Committee Chair James Sanders Jr. for attending both our morning session and our Breaking Barriers Symposium, featuring Michael Pugh, President & CEO of LISC.
