Great presentation from Alexa Sanders, Gabriella DiMeglio, and
Kirsten Lee-Javadi last week on Faculty Tech Day! In their presentation, "Preparing for the Future While Perfecting our Present: Academic Libraries Move Forward Without Leaving it all Behind," they explored how library practice embodies the cura personalis ideal, balancing emerging technologies with traditional access and services, while highlighting the value of authentic connection.

Happy 115th birthday to the New York Public Library! πOn this day in 1911, NYPL officially opened on 5th Avenue. Between 30,000-50,000 New Yorkers visited the library on its opening day, and the shelves were already stocked with over 1,000,000 books. Today, NYPL has grown to 92 branches and over 51 million circulating items. That's a lot of books π
