The Williamsburg Bridge carries approximately 140,000 motorists, 92,000 transit riders, 600 bikers and 500 pedestrians between Brooklyn and Manhattan daily.
NYC DOT owns, operates and maintains the Williamsburg Bridge. When it opened in 1903, the Williamsburg Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world, with a span of 1600 feet and a total length of 7308 feet and the first with all-steel towers. Williamsburg Bridge Notice:
The NYC DOT will continue the rehabilitation of Williamsburg Bridge with the following lane closures from April 29th to May 8th. At least one lane in each direction will be available at all times. The walkway & bikeway continue to be narrowed at work zones as required for a maximum of fifty feet.

Williamsburg Bridge:
The NYC DOT will continue the rehabilitation of Williamsburg Bridge on March 15th with single lane rolling closures Manhattan and Brooklyn bound 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
At least one lane in each direction will be available at all times.

Williamsburg Bridge Notice:
The NYC DOT will continue the rehabilitation of Williamsburg Bridge with rolling closures of the Brooklyn-bound bikeway and walkway on Monday March 13th until Friday March 31st. A 5-foot pedestrian and cyclist path will be available at all times and flaggers will be present during all operations.

Williamsburg Bridge Notice:
The NYC DOT will continue the rehabilitation of Williamsburg Bridge with rolling pedestrian path closures from Tuesday March 7th until Friday March 10th 7AM-3:30PM. A 5-foot pedestrian path will be available at all times and flaggers will be present during all operations.

The NYC DOT will continue the rehabilitation of Williamsburg Bridge with the following lane closures from March 6th to 10th. At least one lane in each direction will be available at all times.
Brooklyn-bound Outer Roadway – One lane closed - 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Brooklyn-bound Inner Roadway – One lane closed - 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Manhattan-bound Outer Roadway – One lane closed - 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Manhattan-bound Inner Roadway – One lane closed - 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Williamsburg Bridge Notice:
The NYC DOT will continue the rehabilitation of Williamsburg Bridge from February 20th to 24th with the following lane closures:
• Brooklyn-bound Outer Roadway: One lane closed 24/7
• Brooklyn-bound Inner Roadway: One lane closed from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Manhattan-bound Inner or Outer Roadway: One lane closed 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
At least one lane in each direction will be available at all times.

The NYC DOT will continue the rehabilitation of Williamsburg Bridge from February 13th to 17th with the following lane closures:
• Brooklyn-bound Outer Roadway: One lane closed 24/7
• Brooklyn-bound Inner Roadway: One lane closed from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Manhattan-bound Inner or Outer Roadway: One lane closed 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
At least one lane in each direction will be available at all times.

Williamsburg Bridge Notice:
On Wednesday, January 11th and continuing for 5 workdays, single lanes on the Manhattan-bound inner roadway (lane 4) or the Brooklyn-bound (lane 5) will be closed to traffic (but not both at the same time).
This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled as needed.
Wednesday, January 11th through Wednesday January 18th - 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
All lanes will be re-opened at the conclusion of work hours.

Williamsburg Bridge Notice:
On Thursday, May 12th, NYC DOT will continue repairs on the Williamsburg Bridge bikeway lights. In order to conduct these repairs, Driggs Avenue between the Williamsburg Bridge and S. 5th Street will be closed from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Travelers will be detoured through S. 4th Street. Public transit and emergency vehicles will be provided access.

Williamsburg Bridge Notice:
NYC DOT will perform repairs on the Williamsburg Bridge bikeway lights on Thursday, April 28. In order to conduct these repairs, Driggs Avenue between the Williamsburg Bridge and S. 5th Street will be FULLY closed from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Travelers will be detoured through S. 4th Street. Public transit and emergency vehicles will be provided access.

Williamsburg Bridge Notice:
The NYC DOT Division of Bridges will conduct maintenance on the Williamsburg Bridge during March 2022. As a result, single-lane closures in either direction (Manhattan or Brooklyn-bound) will be necessary on Monday, March 21 between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. (ending Tuesday morning).
Only one lane at a time will be closed. All other lanes will remain open during work hours.
