Candidates will obtain their High School Equivalency certificate, learn business skills with NYC Department of Small Business Services, and sharpen their computer and job readiness skills with the SUNY Attain Lab at the Armory. YouthBuild is a full time program for out-of-school young adults (ages 17-24) who do not have a High School Diploma or their HSE.

Mental Toughness is a YouthBuild tradition for most of the 250 YouthBuild sites in the United States. It is a challenging, team-building exercise that can range from 1-2 days at some YouthBuild sites, to up to two weeks at others. It prepares the youth participants for the full 9-month, transformative YouthBuild experience, and shows them that they can succeed, and will succeed, if and when they engage their minds to push and do their best.
