One of the highlights will be the Wemilere Festival in Guanabacoa, one of Cuba’s most important celebrations of Yoruba religion and culture. The festival honors the Orisa through traditional music, dance, and ritual, bringing together practitioners from across Cuba and the diaspora.

Trip leader and Orisa CDC Founder Baba Joe Quinones will deliver a keynote presentation on “The Emergence of the Yoruba Tradition within the African American Community,” highlighting the deep historical and spiritual connections between the Orisa communities of Cuba and the United States.
