YAH is having a free thrift party on Sunday, June 20th from 1-6pm at Jackie Robinson Park off Bradhurst Ave. and 149th Street! There will be snacks, music, and good vibes 🤍
Everything is free! Donations are welcome for ALL GENDERS but only in GOOD CONDITION (clothing, shoes, bags, accessories)
Our focus is serving the community in Central Harlem and engaging youth in the area. Tell your friends who like to thrift to pull up :)

The past week at YAH!
❤️🔥 We held various tenant meetings where we strategized and continued to move work forward in order to build greater
❤️🔥 Attended a day of action at the NY state capitol with ! Evictions are violent, traumatic, and inhumane. They are not inevitable. Landlords sue and the state evicts. Albany has the power to stop this violence by passing statewide Right to Counsel, Clean Hands, and a Winter Eviction Moratorium.
❤️🔥 YAH leaders spoke at a rally alongside tenants and community groups to announce the reintroduction of the Community Opportunity to Purchase Act (COPA) in the New York City Council

The Mayor’s Office To Protect Tenants is hosting a Rental Ripoff Hearing THIS SATURDAY, March 28, 2026 from 11am-5:30pm @ Esperanza Preparatory Magnet School in East Harlem (240 East 109th Street, 10029).
These hearings are an opportunity for New Yorkers from all five boroughs a direct platform to share testimony to city agencies such as the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the Department of Buildings and the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection to support the city in developing a report that will be used to inform housing policy. This isn’t a permanent solution, but an opportunity for New Yorkers to let their voices be heard because WE MATTER!!!
You DO NOT have to live in Manhattan to testify! You can submit your testimony online (check link or QR code on the flyer) or share in-person at a hearing that is most convenient for you. The link to the pre-registration for in-person is closed, meaning they are at capacity for the Manhattan hearing.
FOR NYCHA TENANTS: senior leadership and staff will be on-site to ensure residents can submit in-apartment repair requests, file heat/hot water complaints, or discuss development-wide issues.

YAH is teaming up with in solidarity to support with phone banking for their March 1st Rent Strike Drive.
Tenants across Minneapolis & St. Paul are organizing citywide. Labor and tenant unions in Minneapolis and St. Paul, representing more than 25,900 members, announced a March 1 rent strike drive, vowing to show an unprecedented expression of economic power to ensure an eviction moratorium from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and a $50 million rent relief fund from the state legislature.
The purpose of the rent strike: create an economic disruption to get ICE out of the Twin Cities, provide an eviction moratorium - no evictions under occupation, provide rent relief and build solidarity amongst tenants.
The goal: 10,000 tenants commit to withhold rent on March 1st
